Are we recruiting him as a corner or safety?

We now have 2 CBs for Dormady. One from Barton Simmons and the other from Al.com writer Sanjay Kilimanjaro (whatever his name is).

As I said on TSWSNBN I think landing Dormady will give us a quality QB in this class that isn't ranked high enough (yet) to scare off Eason next year.

We may have hit the jackpot with this offer.

No idea. We need another CB for sure and with the offers given out this week, we apparently want another Safety too.

He's flexible.

Barton Simmons on Dormady:

quote:

I've changed my Crystal Ball from Tennessee to Alabama. I really think this was one he was hoping for. I think he wants to play on the biggest stage possible and Alabama certainly provides that.

He's a perfect pro-style fit but plays in the spread in high school, so system isn't a major factor. I think at this point, if Bama really makes him feel wanted, they've got a good shot at landing him.

This is a kid that has really excelled this spring. We obviously think really highly of him based on where we have him ranked versus the rest of the industry. Love the offer.

It really is the best of both worlds. You also avoid the "Bama doesn't start black quarterbacks" meme if Bateman, Cornwell, or Elite 2016 QB beats him out. Of course it would be nice to put to death that meme, but there is a 25% chance of that happening.

I like Waller a lot, but he will probably like the Auburn offense where he can show off his dual threat abilities more than our pro-style offense.

Could Barnett going to Oregon potentially hurt Bama with Eason?

If Notre Dame ends up taking some nobody qb this year, would they be more likely to enter the Eason sweepstakes? I know he doesn't fit their offense, but they won't turn down a 5* QB, and they will probably lie to him about tailoring the offense to fit him.

I don't think so. Barton Simmons was pretty clear that Eason doesn't fit their offense and he believes his father is pushing him to the SEC, most notably Alabama and Georgia.

Prepare yourselves to have Dormady as our QB for this class.

Charles Power CB'd him to Alabama.

What I've gathered from the ND board on Barnett:

-He told Oregon 247 recruiting analyst Hopkins that he doesn't plan on taking any more visits. The previous plan was for him to visit ND on June 20.

-If a flip were to happen, it would probably be in the next 48 hours.

- Barnett has been incommunicado with ND commits this past week. Many have tried to reach out to him, but he isn't communicating.

-The ND staff is not confident in keeping his commitment.

Sorry to clutter the board with ND recruitment, but so goes QB dominos.

Notre Dame may have just entered the Travis Waller sweepstakes. He's smart enough to go to Vanderbilt and he fits ND's offense.

As long as he doesn't end up in tSEC. I don't want us to have to play against him.

I really like this potential pick up. He's big. He has a good arm and he's a good athlete.

Garfield will be happy. Speaking of Garfield, where the frick has he been the last few days?

He's solid. Hope we can get Eason or another elite 2016 quarterback on board before QD gets the Bama bump

He's ranked as the #173 player overall and he didn't even play last year.

He will shoot up the rankings with a good Senior season.

Unfortunately all of the QB spots for the UA and Army games are already filled. He won't get the chance to shine on a national stage unless someone gets hurt.

Last year had some subs. I bet him becoming a Bama commit is enough to get him in as a sub (assuming injury) for either game.

He's supposed to make a few more visits to other schools, but our main competition (at least in my mind) is Oklahoma State and they already have a QB committed.
