After lurking their thread our Auburn friends have me convinced they will land Ledbetter, Godwin, Trent Thompson, Torrance Gibson, Darryl Williams, Richard Mcbryde, Christian Kirk and Tyler Carr.
If Gus will allow it we may have a shot at Daron Payne.

For all I care they can have Ledbetter and Carr. By all means, I'd rather they sign them than us.

Trent Thompson,
Yeah, no.

Ledbetter
Could be, but I still think UGA will be a bigger threat especially if his brother ends up there.

Godwin
I think Bama is in better shape here than they realize. Napier doesn't miss out on many of his targets. Add in Kirby Smart as his area recruiter and I think this one will be a flipzilla for the good guys.

Torrance Gibson
Dont see why any elite WR would want to sign to play for Auburn under Gibson. I just don't see Gibson going to UT, so AU is a real possibility.

Darryl Williams
That recruitment will be over if we don't offer him soon. i hate playing from behind.

Richard Mcbryde
Meh. He fits their system better. Undersized for ours.
quote:
Christian Kirk
Would be an idiot to go to that kind of system instead of one like TAMU where he can put up video game numbers.
quote:
Tyler Carr
All the power to them.

You all know I don't want Carr. He can go to Auburn for all I care.
I would like to keep Ledbetter but if the rumors are true about his brother he is much more likely to go to Georgia.
You can't blame a kid for wanting to play with family. Unless his name is Keenan Allen.

I'm still butthurt about that one.

Darryl Williams is visiting tomorrow. He may get an offer then.

You and me both. fricking Zach Maynard.
Posted on 5/31/14 at 9:24 pm to TideSaint
Rhaheim Ledbetter just went through Spring ball with Southern University, where was UGA's interest before he transferred?
Seems completely transparent for them to be coming after him now...

Hypothetically speaking, if we finished up the 2015 class early, would the other schools band together to stop us from getting too big of a lead on 2016?

Maynard wasn't on anyone's radar but Buffalo before Keenan Allen became a national prospect.
I still cringe when I remember that we were ready to offer him a scholarship too.

Alabama is sitting in its usual spot at the top of the team recruiting rankings, so it is no surprise it also boasts the most commits headed to Baltimore. A total of nine Crimson Tide commits are participating in the Five-Star Challenge -- six more than any other single school. Headlining the contingent of Tide commits is five-star cornerback Minkah Fitzpatrick, who is making his second appearance at the event. He will be joined by future teammates Calvin Ridley, Jonathan Ledbetter, Lester Cotton, Mekhi Brown, Richie Petitbon, Deionte Thompson, Shawn Burgess-Becker and Hale Hentges, and that does not include the host of uncommitted prospects at the event who are still considering Alabama.

How would y'all feel if Dormady got a commitable offer tomorrow?
Posted on 5/31/14 at 9:44 pm to TideSaint
Just odd they would go after him after he completes Spring football for another team, while having the chance to get him in December. He played for their top rival in the SEC, should have been some sort of blip on the radar.
And if he waits till after the season, he'll have exactly 1 year to play at UGA after sitting out. 2 years with Jonathan, 1 playing with him...

I'd be okay with it. I'd prefer Dormady over Sills. As long as it doesn't mess with Eason
Still don't think we will land him. West coast quarterbacks and Mississippi safeties.

We got another CB for Cornell. Wanted to get tMEGATHREAD's thoughts: Ledbetter or Cornell... and go.
Posted on 5/31/14 at 10:13 pm to chattabama
Thing with Cornell, he wants to avoid playing the same spot at Ledbetter. While Ledbetter is up to 275 and growing, Cornell has dropped to 255 with 10 pounds to go.
9/10 I'll take the rush LB over the 5 tech, though Ledbetter has dominated camps and is from a much better football state.

Well we have Hand on campus. He's better than both of them.
Ledbetter is blowing up whereas Cornell seems to be dropping after his initial 5-star ranking.
I think Magilla is on to something with Cornell wanting to play a different position than Ledbetter.
Cornell was rated very high as a kid playing in the 235 pound range. Ledbetter's going to be a DE for us regardless. Auburn is recruiting him as a pass rushing DT.
The question is what position would he rather play as opposed to who should we want more between the two of them.

Travis Waller
Anaheim (Calif.) Servite
The four-star moved closer to the Rivals100 in the latest round of rankings and he showed why on Saturday because he has a really strong arm and he's smart. Waller is still working on his mechanics and he's shown marked improvement since his junior season. He's another recruit who uses his athleticism and running ability to his advantage so sitting in the pocket is not his greatest strength. Alabama and Northwestern are the frontrunners but offers from Oregon, Ohio State and USC -- all which might be coming soon -- could make things even more interesting.
