I told y'all Sills will probably be the guy we land a few pages ago. He's the only kid to confirm that he's coming to camp and he's committed to a school that has a 5-star QB in the fold as well.

I like him. He has almost perfect mechanics. Immaculate actually. His arm is average but he has a nice frame.

He's a more athletic GMac.

ETA: Did you really just link the national Scout homepage?

I didn't purposefully link it . I was just copying and pasting tweets and didn't really pay attention. Will edit.

Quick question about citing sources. If we c&p something from TSWSNBN, will we then have to name that site?

I can see who RAs, and I promise it's not the folks who are downvoting the OP. This issue is very close to Chicken's heart, as it's one of the few things that can present legal issues.

It's ridiculous. I don't copy and paste premium content. Most of the stuff I c and p is from Bleacher Report which is free. Am I supposed to link every single page of their slideshows?

Sorry bro. You know I got mad love for you. And no, if it's a slide show, just say so. We're not gonna bust balls, but when giant walls of text show up, there needs to be a clue about their origin.

Well don't tell anyone but I break up the slideshows into individual posts to drive up the post count in the thread.

Most of the wall of texts come from perpetual free sites like Bleacher Report and Al.com.

I'll link them from now on just to satisfy the lurkers. Trust me, the BOL staff will let me know if I'm breaking copyright laws from them. They did after the Bama-LSU game last year. I got a no no email from Lucky after that weekend.

Everything since then has been on the up and up though.

Per TSWSNBN, Darian Roseboro's Top 10:

Top 10:

Alabama
Clemson
Duke
Florida
LSU
Michigan
UNC
NC State
Ohio State
Tennessee

Should I link that info?

No hyperbole is needed. They are running away with the mythical recruiting “national title” 8 months before it’s even decided. They are doing so well that’s it’s difficult to think of anyone who could even come close to catching them.

The consensus seems to be that the only program with a remote shot is USC. They picked up a very good inside linebacker last week in Cameron Smith and are off to what would be considered a fantastic start with commitments from Chuma Edoga, Ricky Town, and four other 4 stars. The only non-4 star or better player currently in their class is sleeper prospect Noah Jefferson and he has huge potential.

But I said “would be considered a fantastic start” for a reason. Alabama’s class is at another level. In order for USC to approach what Alabama is doing, they would have to land virtually every top remaining kid in California and grab at least a few big time players from outside the state. That means that USC has to win probably at least ten games and UCLA has to have a disappointing year, which is fairly unlikely with Brett Hundley returning at quarterback, for that scenario to even come close to playing out.

So yeah, not going to happen.

In college football recruiting it’s Alabama’s world. We’re all just living in it.

- It’s at least a little bit ironic thought that the one hole in Alabama’s recruiting class is at quarterback and that wasn’t the case when Town was committed to them rather than USC. That’s the one position they have not had a ton of success at in recent years and it could cost them dearly if Florida State transfer Jacob Coker doesn’t pan out.

If they can somehow land an elite quarterback, then they could almost cruise on home with the players they already have committed. Right now it appears they are on the outside looking in to who is left at quarterback in 2015.

Alabama ahead of pack for 2015 recruiting national championship

Posted by Kevin McGuire on May 27, 2014, 11:25 AM EDT

At Alabama, Nick Saban does not rebuild. He simply reloads, and he is not afraid to shut down those who criticize him. This can help explain why it might be worth awarding Alabama the recruiting national championship for 2015 already, well ahead of the 2014 college football season.

The Crimson Tide picked up the verbal commitment of four-star tight end Hale Hentges over the Memorial Day weekend, giving Alabama 16 commitments for the Class fo 2015, including the top JUCO transfer. According to the team rankings compiled by Rivals.com, Alabama has the number one recruiting class at the moment and is averaging four stars per player in the class. That is just simply ridiculous recruiting. Alabama has secured commitments from throughout the SEC’s stomping grounds with recruits hailing from Alabama, Florida, Missouri, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. Wherever Alabama goes, it seems talent will show interest. Of the top 100 players in the Class of 2015 by Rivals, 10 are currently on the board for Alabama. Just let that sink in for a minute.

Ten percent of the top 100 players in the country are going to Alabama, and there could be more between now and national signing day. Quality depth? You better believe it.

That is how Alabama has become a juggernaut in the college football world under Saban and one of the reasons why the Crimson Tide are being considered a playoff contender in 2014 despite the way last year ended and how much talent the program loses. Winning three out of the last five national championships surely helps that recruiting sales pitch. Sending a ton of talent to the NFL does not hurt either

Alabama coach Nick Saban was in Ohio Wednesday evening for a speaking engagement, and he was asked a simple question by an Ohio State fan:

How long will it take the Big Ten to get up to SEC standards?

"I'm going to be politically correct on this one," Saban said before considering his answer.
The answer, stated in a round-about way, was simple: If you want to be like the SEC, then you need to recruit like the SEC.

"I think we have a little bit of an advantage when it comes to the recruiting base we have in the Southeast," Saban told those in attendance.

Saban added: "I think you have great high school football here in Ohio, but there's a lot of really good players in the Southeast . . . and as that league has accomplished a lot of success through the years, more and more people on a national basis want to come there. I think you almost have to nationally recruit in this day and age."

Alabama is recruiting so well these days that South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier joked the other day the Tide should be forced to sit out a year of recruiting. But what Saban said to those Big Ten fans isn't exactly new to their league. Ohio State definitely recruits nationally, and Michigan can in healthy years.

The advantage Saban refers to is just that SEC schools do it better on the whole than anyone else. The Class of 2014 composite recruiting rankings from 247Sports has seven SEC teams in the top 10 alone. The Big Ten accounts for only three teams in the top 25 (granted, this is just a one-year snapshot, but the theme holds).

Saban wasn't picking at the Big Ten -- it's clear he has respect for the league after coaching there and even asked to be quoted saying, "I think the Big Ten is a really good conference." He just gave a straight answer to a straight question, one that could apply to any league out there.
Want to be like the SEC? No problem -- just recruit like us.
Possibly the best part of Saban's speech: He clearly has an affection for the state of Ohio after coaching stops at Ohio State, Toledo and the Cleveland Browns -- telling the crowd, "I feel really at home here. It's really great to be back in Ohio." -- and Buckeyes fans in attendance seemed to appreciate Saban stopping in on them.

But even with all of those warm feelings, he could end the night in only one way.
"I hate to use this," Saban told the Ohio State fans, "but Roll Tide."

Im sure that speech rustled some jimmies. Especially since tOSU fans are so convinced that we are paying e'erybody and they are completely innocent.

McBride is not in and probably wont be in.

Rumors are that Bo has to take one high school course online to make it in.

Johnny Dwight will enroll in June after he gets a waiver for not passing a section of his graduation test.

Dominick Jackson and OJ Smith are already in ttown.

I think that covers everyone who had any qualifying questions.

Yep like I said Bo is taking the Eddie Lacy route and I believe McBride is JuCo

And I've heard from someone at UA (friend of mine that owns Billy's Bar & Grill in Northport, used to own the one in Vestavia) that Hassenauer (sp?) is fricking MASSIVE and almost no body fat he said he looks like Barrett Jones (who he knew) when he graduated

If he can learn the OL PB I wouldn't be suprised to see him quite a bit as a backup this year
