According to a poster on BOL, Jovon Robinson was told to hold off before he commits, but he's not sure why because he's supposedly the top back on our board. Because of that he expects him to commit to Auburn pretty soon.

FWIW, another guy countered back that we did not ask him to hold off.

Me neither. There was talk we would recruit him as a tackle. That is complete BS. He is way too slow to do that. Gets beat too easily. If Cristobal thinks he is a tackle then I'd have to question his talent evaluation.

He isn't as slow to me as it is bad footwork
When I watch film a lot of his issues seem to stem from bad technique
Get him on campus and refocus him and strip him of his bad habits and start over from scratch......I could see him as a T though with some work
Maybe I am just an optimist (and I've been bashed for this before obviously but I'm trying to get better I really am) but it isn't such a bad thing to me when you have landed at least 1 and possibly more absolute stud OT and have 2 stud inside OL in the current class, to take a guy who is a bit of a project technique wise who already has measurables.

Where did you see this? I looked at both recruiting threads for Ole Miss and State and nobody has even mentioned this.
You'd think an Ole Miss fan would be screaming from the rooftop over this news yet it's all quiet on the Western Front over there.

I guess I didn't go back far enough.
I still like our chances though. That negative recruiting comment has to be directed at State. He's coming to A-Day, or was the last I saw, so we have a chance to swing things back in our favor.
I've noticed none of the analysts have begun CBing him to Ole Miss. That's a good sign.

We have an equal recent track record in California than we do in Mississippi. How sad is that?
