I always wished Jackie Traina had her change up. Heck I wished Montana had Goodman's because her's just floated to the plate.

The Extra Point: Early-Season Pros and Cons for Alabama Softball (SI)
Alabama softball has won several impressive games over ranked teams but also stumbled against opponents that should not have a chance in defeating the Crimson Tide.

Wednesday baseball moved to today due to the weather forecast, but it looks like softball is staying put for tomorrow. It’s going to be on SEC+ if anyone gets bored with Alabama MBB blowout victory over auburn.

Alabama softball is back in action at Rhoads Stadium this week, hosting Southern Miss on Wednesday, March 1. First pitch between the Crimson Tide and Golden Eagles is set for 6 p.m. CT.

Alabama Softball Shuts Out Southern Miss Wednesday in Tuscaloosa
Montana Fouts strikes out 10, Jenna Johnson hits a three-run home run
Alabama softball shut out Southern Miss, 5-0, Wednesday night at Rhoads Stadium.
After two scoreless innings, Alabama (12-3) got into the run column first against Southern Miss (12-2) courtesy of a two-out RBI single from Ashley Prange. In the bottom of the fourth with two on and one out, Jenna Johnson added some cushion with a three-run home run to left, making it 4-0. Bailey Dowling one-hopped the wall in left for an RBI double in the fifth to stretch the lead to five, and the 5-0 lead proved final as the Crimson Tide kept the Golden Eagles out of the run column for the remained to retain the shutout.
Montana Fouts (7-1) posted a quality start in the circle, striking out 10 with just one hit and three walks allowed over 6.0 innings pitched while Alex Salter closed the door with a shutout seventh, striking out two. Johnson tied a season high with three RBIs, all coming on her first home run of the season. Six different players earned a hit in the win for the Tide, though freshman Kenleigh Cahalan saw her career-starting hitting streak end at 14 games.
From Head Coach Patrick Murphy
"I thought Montana was in complete control all game long. Salter came in and gave us a good inning at the end. We will need her this year, so it was cool to see her do really well tonight. Jenna Johnson had the big hit with the three-run home run, and then a pair of two-out RBIs from Ashley Prange and Bailey Dowling. It was a good game. I think Southern Miss is a good team, they're going to win a lot of games this year."

Softball with the W. Esman pitched and Heivilin* with an ‘inside the park run’…. apparently they didn’t score it a home run because she hit it to the wall and made it safely to 3rd and the ball was overthrown at 3rd so then she took home to score. Still - so impressive!

another win vs a mid major. The offensive lack of production against mid majors should be concerning right? 6 hits and only 4 runs.
But Esman had some movement on her pitch last night. She is developing into a true number 2. We will see when we get to SEC play if she can hold up. She looks good in softball pants.

I don't think that was Cahalan. I think it was Kali who did that.
