That half inning sums up Alabama softball the last several years. Failed bunt attempts, watching strikes and a groundout to end the inning.
With the addition of OU and Texas, Alabama will be a middle to bottom half team in the conference.

I just can’t no more with Murphy. This is pathetic to watch. You can’t play good pitching and small ball at the plate anymore…it’s 2024

I was furious to see he was bunting one of our best clutch hitters with a runner in scoring position! You absolutely never bunt with your 3rd and 4th hitter unless it’s a walk off squeeze play! Just horrible coaching

Yeah, I take my statement back, since I don’t want to insult little league coaches. Almost all of them know not to try to steal 3rd with 2 outs and a lefty up. This is embarrassing, but I still hope we pull it out for Beaver’s sake

Murphy has been in a slow decline since the 2012 title. He’s had his moment here and there but none of these teams were enough to compete with OU.
I’m hoping he steps down after this season and becomes an ambassador for the program. It’s time for a fresh start and a different approach. Problem is he’s a nice guy and no one will bother him as long as he is competitive. Truth be told, I’ve never gotten over him taking the LSU job for a few days.

Saban adapted his offense when he realized his old way couldnt win anymore. But then again he is the GOAT for a reason.

He ain’t losing his job. He got to the WCWS last year(because of a gift of a draw) and back to a Super Regional this year(because of a gift of hosting). His job security is still very very high

That’s understood but no one within the program will put pressure on him to change either. We had no business hosting this year and only got that opportunity because we draw fans.

If Heivlin would have just fielded that ground ball yesterday I would be a lot less stressed right now.

Joka, about 15 years ago I thought Murphy could end up as the GOAT of women’s softball……boy was I wrong.
Him wasting Montana Fouts and more specifically not winning a National Title with the 2021 team ended him in my eyes
