Kirby Smart has such an inferiority complex when it comes to Saban. Hilarious that he tweet-responds to Saban's interview comments about our new S & C program. Saban is so deeply imbedded in his head, I'm not sure Kirby could beat him even with a more talented team. He wants it too much. He's going to continue to coach tight and make poor decisions because his emotions are too tied to this. The Justin Fields fake punt in the SECCG is a perfect example of this, along with him going conservative in the 2nd half of the 2017 natty. Saban living rent free up in Kirby's big dome.

So, it hasn’t been discussed, but I wonder if Ballou and Dr. Rhea will be able to deal with the the weight issues that our players have. Take Shane Lee for example. Can we get him down 20+ lbs, and will he play faster? Seems like they may have some positive effect on the players versus the old though of bulking everyone up.

We'll see. They have training regimens to reduce bulk and improve flexibility, quickness and speed. They tailor training programs for each player's needs.

Sec- 40
Big 12- 12
Pac 12- 12
ACC- 8
Big 10- 17

Draft picks through first 3 rounds. That is embarassing for other schools

Imo, it's more embarrassing that Bama plays teams like Georgia St., Kent St., and UT Martin. Instead, Bama should play top G5 teams -- those typically good enough to compete for conference titles and be ranked in the CFB polls -- like Memphis, Cincy, UCF, etc. Bama should never play FCS schools. It's also a rip-off to fans who donate and buy season tickets.

I am sure during your playing days you wanted to play really good teams every week.

Clemson plays those same teams and the media never gives them shite about it. Seriously. They play The Citadel, Charlotte, Wofford and the like in addition to being in the pedestrian ACC. I agree it's bad playing teams like that but other top programs do the exact same thing.

It's equally ridiculous for other CFP-caliber P5 programs like Clemson, OSU, LSU, etc. to play turrible G5 & FCS teams. If Bama plays better OOC opponents than they do, it could be the difference in Bama making the CFP over them in a tight race situation.

Some men physically abuse their wives and children. That doesn't make it excuseable for us to do it too.

I enjoyed playing and beating really good teams A LOT more than stomping crappy teams.

You scared of Bama playing teams like Memphis, Cincy and UCF?

We shouldn't have that problem this year with a good USC team to open the season. There is a very good chance that they will win the PAC 12 South. Plus the fact that the schedule includes Georgia in SEC play. Road games against LSU and an improved Tennessee team. The weak schedule argument can't be used this year assuming the season starts on time.

I believe power5 members should only play power5 teams.

That being said, then you’d have folks bitching and whining about how small schools need that paycheck.
