Thanks to having a couple of coordinators who have an occasional penchant for dumbassery and some players who can't seem to "get right", I put forth the following players as this weeks Bama Bailout players.

Germie Bernard- For some reason Grubb seems to want to throw a WR pass off a reverse and this week Bernard saved him bigly by turning one of those calls- which was headed for disaster- into an 18 yard gain. He also added a key 17 yard run on the drive to help set up a key TD.

Zabien Brown- Everyone knows about Brown's "Hundred Yard Heartbreak pick but Brown also had a big tackle to stop one UT drive and also a key pass break up.

If you think anyone else is eligible please feel feel to add who and why.

The O line bailed out Grubb by at least getting decent push when he was inexplicably running the ball against a stacked box.

Browns pick has GOT TO BE a Daniel Moore painting. That pick will be a classic highlight in this series for years to come.

Daniel Hill needs more carres. That big 245 lb load was moving bodies three and four yards by himself. I can only imagine if there was a hole there for him to run through.

Chicken or Egg.

Hill ran hard Saturday but he was doing it against tired legs. I don't hate the idea of him being fresh in the 4th quarter. We have a sample size this year of the running game with Jam and without Jam. Hill has not been nearly as effective early in games so far this season.

Tennessee didn't play as much man coverage as they have up to this point in the season, but there were some instances were they went single high that I thought we didn't take full advantage. They didn't have a guy that could cover Ryan. There was a point in the second half where we faced a third and long in out own territory and they went single high and Grubb finally went to the well and sent Ryan on a go route- he drew the PI. You could tell before the snap that this could be a pivotal play in the game. My only gripe is why are we waiting to get to that point to go there. I say all that to say that we faced a lot of heavy boxes early, which Hill also isn't doing anything against.

I think if anyone needs more carries it's Dear. We lack explosive plays in the run game and he seems to be the one that could provide that.

The more Hill plays the better he should get. I agree, it could have been tired legs but nonetheless it showed to be effective and if that's the role he plays the rest of the season it's worth putting him in. Forcing the defense to bring down a fresh 245 lb running back in the second half is something that could benefit the offense. Especially when we have a second half lead and we're trying to eat clock.

Dear isn't playing because he's still learning the pass protection scheme. He's not to the point where you put him on the field, but he's getting there.
