Ladies with a W and a 197+ but still searching for consistency across all events. Luisa was a last minute scratch on floor exercise (on Senior Night) - hope it’s not as ominous as it seems.

Will Bama host first round?
Posted on 3/12/23 at 8:01 am to mrbroker
No more hosting like softball as I understand it - the sites are predetermined (see along the top of the chart). The top two teams emerging from each region proceed to Fort Worth for nationals. (8 teams total)

so based on rankings, then Bama is not expected to advance. 198 an above will have to be Bama's score to advance out of the region.
Posted on 3/12/23 at 9:04 am to mrbroker
Correct - anything can happen but Bama is not one of the top 2 teams in the Pittsburgh region in that projection

A nice, if not simplistic, overview of gymnastics in the SEC. Each team with a blurb in the write up - the Bama one is posted below.
The Changing Hierarchy of SEC Gymnastics
The SEC is one of the most prolific and successful conferences in college gymnastics, containing three of the seven teams who have ever won an NCAA gymnastics championship. However, in recent years these traditional powerhouses have started to shift, with the old guards becoming dormant and new teams rising to the top of the conference.

Alabama: New beginnings
Alabama is the second most decorated SEC program, having six national championships and 10 conference championships—the most recent of which came in upset fashion in 2021. Alabama was in a unique position under longtime head coach Dana Duckworth, always staying near the top of the conference, ready to strike whenever a top team made mistakes. Under Duckworth, the Crimson Tide experienced great success, not falling below third at the conference championship during her tenure in Tuscaloosa.
However, in 2022, Duckworth’s reign came to somewhat of an unceremonious end when she hastily retired, leaving the historic program without major leadership. Then steps in the heir apparent, former Crimson Tide gymnast and Auburn associate head coach Ashley Johnston. Johnston came to Tuscaloosa after an impressive tenure of her own at Auburn (we’ll get into the details of that later), ready to bring the team back to its glory days from when she was a gymnast there.
Currently, Johnston is working with recruiting classes brought in by Duckworth’s coaching staff, including the third-ranked class of 2023, headlined by top-rated recruit Jamison Sears. Moving forward, Johnston is ready to embrace the competition of the conference, saying, “As one program gets better, it pushes and challenges us to raise the bar…and challenges us to continue to refine some of the details.” With a total of six rated recruits coming in over the next two seasons, there’s no shortage of talent to live up to the historic expectations of the Crimson Tide name.

How are the seedings determined?
Posted on 3/14/23 at 2:25 pm to tattoo
Based on the National Qualifying Score (NQS) LINK
Q: How is the National Qualifying Score (NQS), National Qualifying Average (NQA) and Seasonal Average Score (SAS) computed?
Women: Qualification for regional competition is based on a team's and an all-around competitor's six best regular-season-meet scores, of which three must be away. To obtain the national qualifying score (NQS), the high score is eliminated and the remaining five scores are averaged. Division III uses the SAS.

Alabama’s Luisa Blanco Named AAI Award Finalist
The award honors the most outstanding senior female gymnast in the country
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama gymnastics senior Luisa Blanco has been named one of six finalists for the 2023 AAI Award, as announced by the organization Wednesday.
The AAI Award, presented by American Athletic, Inc., is given annually to the nation's top senior female gymnast and is widely considered to be the Heisman Trophy of gymnastics. Blanco is joined by Sierra Brooks of Michigan, Lynnzee Brown of Denver, Maile O'Keefe of Utah, Trinity Thomas of Florida and Raena Worley of Kentucky as the 2023 finalists.
The Crimson Tide has now had a finalist in back-to-back years, with Lexi Graber also earning the recognition in 2022. Since the award's introduction in 1982, three Alabama gymnasts have won the prestigious honor: Barbara Mack (1985), Penney Hauschild (1986) and Andree Pickens (2002).
Blanco has solidified herself as one of the most decorated gymnasts in program history as a 12-time All-American, NCAA Champion, four-time SEC Champion, 2021 Honda Award for Gymnastics Finalist and 2021 SEC Gymnast of the Year. The senior has also earned over 50 individual event titles and four perfect 10.0s on the balance beam during her time at UA.
The recipient of the AAI Award will be announced next month during the NCAA Championships in Fort Worth, Texas.
