Just got home from Title-Town. I wanted to stay and see the punter but as of 3:45 the guy had never punted one kick. JMO but this bunch is ready. The practice session was really organized and smooth for day #2. Bama needs #4 Chris Allen to give us some quality play at ILB and #8 Savion Smith to be the Man at DB and this bunch has a change to be elite. I believe it is really a great plan the Locksley is free to roam on offense instead of being a position coach. We'll see.

No news of how the open practice went, apart from that Outlaw tidbit? Haven't seen any reports.

There were two real good reports on BOL I'd like to post, but they're premium content. Overall the practice went well. All of the QBs did well. New punter averaged 48 yards on 7 punts.
I'll look around.
ETA: I checked Rivals and al.com -- no luck.

Instant Analysis: Saturday (BOL)
quote:
Since 2008, BamaOnLine.com's Instant Analysis has been a staple of Crimson Tide football coverage. That won't change in 2018, as we'll continue to provide Alabama fans with insight and interaction fresh from Tuscaloosa via Facebook Live.
As for items we touched on during Saturday's edition of IA, they included:
* The comments made by Jalen Hurts during the media day portion of Saturday; the potential pros and cons of Hurts' words moving forward and how performed in their wake. Also, the quarterback position as a whole, including the work put forth by Tua Tagovailoa, Mac Jones and others in the workout.
* How the secondary appears to be coming together and the statement made by junior defensive back Shyheim Carter on Saturday. Still plenty of moving pieces, but there's reason for optimism where the back end of the defense is concerned.
* The offensive line continues to look exactly the way it did at the end of spring practice. Competition, though, can be expected at a number of spots, with depth a part of that equation.
* He may not be JK Scott just yet, but freshman punter Skyler DeLong did a pretty good impression of his predecessor in the practice.
With fall camp fully underway, there isn't a shortage of topics to cover. Among those we'll be following closely in the coming days and weeks:
* Hurts and Tagovailoa at the quarterback position. Hurts brings 28 career starts to the table while Tagovailoa's resume is highlighted by a second-half comeback win over Georgia in the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Since the start of the 2016 season, both signal callers have proven capable in big moments, making the manner in which head coach Nick Saban manages the situation all the more intriguing.
* Of utmost concern for new defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi will be a secondary that must replace its top six players from 2017, including all-american Minkah Fitzpatrick. Will the revamped defensive backfield we saw in spring drills hold up or will a talented quartet of summer enrollees prove too good to keep out of the rotation? Of particular interest will be the corner positions, where Trevon Diggs and junior college transfer Saivion Smith went wire-to-wire with the starters in March and April.
* How will the offensive line come together over the course of preseason practices? On paper, Alabama returns four starters from a season ago. However, only one of those individuals -- left tackle Jonah Williams -- worked in his 2017 position on A-Day. The preseason is a time for working combinations and it doesn't appear as if the approach will change this time around.
* In addition to the rookie defensive backs, what other areas of this team might get a boost from newcomers? With some specifics spots in mind, we'll likely feature wide receiver, linebacker and the kicking game a good bit during the preseason.
Again, as we enter our 11th season of Instant Analysis, we look forward to providing the fanbase with the very latest information while also interacting Crimson Tide supporters around the world. Join us on a ride that promises to be as thrilling as our first 10 trips through the fall with Saban at the wheel.

Thanks TS, it seemed strange that nothing free was available regarding today's event. Did not check Al.com or Bleacher Report.

Just before anyone hops on this, Aaron Rodgers is throwing a crazy number of INTs in Packers camp. A lot of great passers do it regularly in camp because they're testing themselves and actually throwing the ball into tight windows and trying to make plays. Less INTs in generally better, but context is important. If you're being passive with the football (ala 2017 Jalen) and not throwing INTs then you're being a detriment by killing drives and/or not having the ability to make tight throws. If you're still making throws down the field and looking very accurate (Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady types in the NFL. Hell, AJ McCarron in 2012) and only throwing a few INTs, then you're helping the team tremendously.
I've taken a bad stance on INTs in the past, so I know how others may do the same. All INTs are not created equal, and definitely shouldn't be an indicator in camp of all things without context given.
Not saying you were doing that Panthers, I'm just jumping out ahead of anyone coming in and saying "oh no Tua throws a lot of picks!!"

I think Shy is gonna be really good for us at Star. I'm expecting Star and FS with Shy and Thompson to be where we see the least amount of growing pains in the secondary. I may be wrong though, but that's what I'm feeling right now. Also Smith at CB should be pretty good.

Oh no, I definitely get what you were saying. I agree with you.
