Like I said on the SECRB, he is a heck of a QB but we are talking about someone who probably would not have been our starter till 2018-2019.

I'm sure we will be able to find another QB by then.

this does not concern me. The chances of alabama hanging onto a west coast qb for 2 years were slight at best. Also, Cornwell is such a natural with so much upside that I could easily see him winning a qb battle with town after a year (or 2) of solid college coaching. Plus i just really like Cornwell's attitude and would have been rooting for him anyway

It's better he decommitted now than at this same time next year. That is the posi spin for me I guess.

Oh well. Coker for two years, then Cornwell, who I always thought would beat Town for the job anyway. Town wasn't gonna sit that long with his talent.

Well dang. I had a bad feeling about this.

To me it was over when Kiffin was fired from USC. With a good USC program it is going to be nearly impossible to steal away a top Cali qb. Sark seems to do well with developing qbs. Best of luck to him.

So a week ago he was saying he's going to spend his entire spring break in Ttown, today we're not even in consideration? Recruiting craziness strikes again.

I guess we can infer from Christian Miller's tweet that this is a result of Coker coming in (though I've also seen some tweets implying it had to do with our OC change). Did someone explain to Town that Coker will only have 1year of eligibility when Town enrolls? That's pretty much an ideal set-up for him

He committed well after Cornwell so I don't see how that would cause him to decommit now

You're right, but assume Coker starts for two years, and Cornwell redshirts. There is a scenario there where Town may not start until 2018 or 2019. He would have likely just transferred anyway.

Boohoohoo we won with Greg McElroy and AJ McCarron defense will always win championships especially on the collegiate level, it would take a seasoned vet Peyton Manning to beat a great defense... I'm more worried about losing Daron Payne.

If we turn around and go after that QB Lane offered in the 8th grade, I'm going to melt the frick down

It could also be a case of the rubber meeting the road. Most analysts predict he will stay out west. I understand it though. He probably wants to play in a place where his family can see him play more often than once or twice a year.

Wonder if something changed wrt his brother possibly coming to Bama for our Communications program. That was supposedly a big factor in our favor

Does his description say #bama jack like how Si from Duck Dynasty says jack, or is this him saying he plays Jack now?

I'll blame it on Kiffin hire if he ends up in the SEC. Until then I think it's a case of a kid wanting to stay closer to home. USC wasn't stable when Kiffin was on the hot seat, so I don't blame him for considering other schools. Now that it appears USC has stability at the coaching position, I look for a lot of west coast kids to stay out there.

Not happening. Wants to stay out west, wants to go to a top academic school.

I see Town going to UCLA and Rosen going to USC.
