Chad Thomas visiting January 31

Oh yeah
Which two would be more beastly?
Elam, Evans, or Thomas?
I want them all, but even getting two would be amazing.

Well they all play different positions
I'm gonna just say Elam because if his impact at that position and it is something Bama hasn't had since Cody
But Chad Thomas is a very ridiculously talented DE. I am VERY happy with him setting up a OV
Evans is the perfect Sam in Bama's system, pass rushing monster and able to drop and play coverage, but Bama is bringing in Hand and Miller adding him would just be unfair.
Understand though I'm a DL guy
so its a partial pick tbh
Look I like Johnny Dwight as much as the next guy and he is really underrated but if he flips to LSU and Bama lands Chad Thomas...Bama wins and it isn't even close

Give me all of em!
We'll figure out where to put them after signing day.

WOW! Evans, Thomas, Elam, Hand, Miller, Hump, Brown, and Hootie on defense? That would be just sick.

I'm pretty confident on Elam
and Humphrey
After this weekend OV seems like Bama made up considerable ground with Evans even to the point where he is seriously considering picking Bama, not the case a couple weeks ago, but I'll hold off judgement till after his AU OV, his Dad's comments on it were very telling for me though tbh
I'm not sure on Chi, seems like Bama is a threat because he likes Marlon and MH has been recruiting him to come here, hence why he came on his OV. I have heard from people I know in La that he is still considering leaving the state and that is a possibility, but that he also likes LSU a lot. I think it's interesting that Rivals I think reported that LSU is selling him on the fact that picking LSU makes his future and living in La better, that to me tells me they think at least for the moment he is considering leaving and the lead might be slipping away. Regardless he is a kid I could see going either way.
I think (or hope rather) that Chad Thomas setting up an OV is huge, and he will easily be blown away. If you think about Miami and the comparison to Bama it really isn't a fair fight I wouldn't expect much if he was committed to FSU for instance but MIAMI??
really hope Bama can nab him away so his talents don't waste down there in South Beach, but I'm not expecting it, would be a phenomenal close though if we added him for sure.

Staff continues to feel pretty good about Evans.
Very similar recruitment to Hand......I would advise people to ignore the preconceived ideas you got from message board chatter and just listen to what he and his family are saying.
To reiterate, I don't believe he's 100% decided either way at this point, just that Bama's staff feels optimistic after the feedback they received Sunday.

Honest question, with Evans visit to AU coming up, will they try negative recruiting (do they really do that) and how much will the visit negate what ground Alabama made up? Also, IF they do try the negative recruiting tactic (DC anyone?) will that work against them as Evans has already visited Bama and will realize the negative tactics will make them look like asses?
Maybe we can get another racial slur or two thrown around (I kid, I kid!).

To answer your question, yes I believe that there will be some negative recruiting happening in AU. From the sounds of all of the interviews it appears that was the case before he got to Bama on his OV. He talked about hearing the rumors about Bama coaches not caring about you, etc. I think they will try to do some negative recruiting with fake depth charts.
As far as if the tactics will work, who knows? I really wish we had our in home to use after the visit to do damage control, but oh well.

Saban can wait to use his in-home until after the visit to Auburn, but apparently he feels he doesn't need to.

And before everyone gets all excited about Chad Thomas, he is also taking an OV to FSU this weekend.

Yeah and we don't have the major Chad Thomas wants

TS, I know that Elam, Humphery, and Evans are all on board if they choose us, but i still feel our biggest need is safety and I just want to make sure that our depth at that position is secure!

Well we have Missouri commit Tavon Ross possibly taking an OV this weekend. He had grade issues, but apparently he has made up a lot of ground in that regard.
I love him. He's a stud. Kirby offered him last week. He is supposed to decide between Miami and us on what visit to make.
I read somewhere that his visit to Georgia this past weekend wasn't spectacular, but then again I also read that he spent $240 in the UGA bookstore.
I guess we'll find out more in the next day or so.
