I'll admit it is a long shot, but how many of our current commits were long shots at one time or another?
-Early last year Cam Rob seemed like a long shot.
- This summer Hootie seemed like a long shot.
-Up until the announcement Hand was a long shot.
-Up until the UAAA game Tony Brown was considered a long shot.
If you are talking about guys late in the process, how about Ashawn or Reuben Foster?
Point being is that it doesn't look good for us right now with Evans, but we've pulled in others, so what's to say that we can't pull off this one? I give it about a 20% chance.

Auburn has had a much more difficult time signing players out of Auburn high school than we have. Dee Finley... LaMichael Fanning... Reuben Foster..

You boys will change your tune on Evans soon enough.
What's hilarious is that message board posters are WAY more confident in Evans to AU at this point than the actual Auburn coaching staff is.

And where do you see Evans going?

Too close to call. After this weekend we'll know more. He isn't the Auburn lock people think he is.

Dee Finley was from AHS and Auburn wanted him badly, but he chose Florida. I was listing SEC level talent out of Auburn high that didn't go to AU.

Met Rashaan Evans in rounders in the rap room. He was real nice and quiet

Why did you lose interest? He's an awesome prospect.
Because I figured we weren't gonna get him and it was better to focus on other guys we have a chance with, but if we can still pull him that'd be great.

I keep asking this, but are there any "insider" reports to how all the visits are going?

Bone's Twitter keeps linking to stuff on Rivals that I can't see. Perhaps someone else here can share cliffs?

We won't hear much until later this afternoon. Hopefully the recruiting sites will have good interviews from all the prospects.
I'll do my best to paraphrase them once they start to come out.

2015 5-star DT Tim Settle basically said we lead without saying it. He is really good friends with Johnathan Allen and Da'Shawn Hand. He likes that our staff is straightforward and that we win.
If we can land Settle and Daron Payne in next year's class we are going to be loaded on the D-Line.

That's 1999 and 2000 level DL classes with actual development to follow.

And with Hootie, Brown, and hopefully Marlon in this class plus what we hope to be another strong DB class next year shite should get interesting.
We're always good at LB.

We need to get Leo Lewis, McMillon, and the two kids from Hoover in the 2015 class.
That would be a fantastic LBer haul.

I want to see more Alabama kids as well. My only caveat lately.
