Last opening Rumph said that he wasn't interested in USCw, but they were interested in him. My fear in losing him would be losing Christian Miller. If Rumph is on his way out, I'd rather us wait until after NSD.

I personally do not believe Rumph is going anywhere. he is a good coach and recruiter

I'm hoping Greg Brown is out. Any other changes are just gravy.

I like Rumph, but plain and simple we need a dominant defensive line and in this day that goes beyond stopping the run. And while our lack of a pass rush is not entirely his fault, a fresh start might be best for everyone.

I feel like either no one is teaching the DL pass rushing moves, or they're just not learning them. Hubbard had so much potential, but never really developed any moves.

Agreed. Who taught Dareus? Davis?

Its not Rumph its the scheme! If you listen to Hubbard he says this all the time! Go back to the end of the LSU game when it was an obvious passing situation on 3rd and 4th downs and we had nothing to lose. We let the animals lose and they feasted. Its scheme people hold the rope kind of shite....play your gap for the run. if we want pressure we send a blitz

I'm not saying they don't teach it, I'm saying it amazes me how much talent we've had come through here and when it's time to get after someone they just sort of go. I know the scheme does have a lot to do with that, and hopefully we change it with guys like Hand and Allen getting after QBs now.

I don't know where all this Orgeron stuff is coming from, but I don't believe it. He resigned from USC even though they wanted him to stay on as DC and Assistant Head Coach, yet he's going to come to Alabama to be the D-Line Coach?
Yeah right.
This "rumor" stems from nothing more than a wet dream put out there by an overzealous Bama fan.

Hubbard is an OLB so his coaching is on Thompson. But Rumph definitely has been underwhelming though the talent is picking up. First few years under Saban we did just recruit "decent" guys as pluggers. Now we are recruiting impact type guys like Robinson, Pettway, Allen, Reed etc.

It is more likely Brown goes instead of Rumph. Brown was underwhelming when we hired him, hasn't done anything recruiting wise, and despite being young our corners were out of position a lot. All that plus Belue regressed.
Brown brought nothing to the table. His "commits" (on all of which he is the 2nd recruiter) are Reed/Pettway and Chris Williams.

I agree. I think Brown needs to be eased out.

Give Duane a call out in Texas. If not, Urban gonna try and jump all over him.

Williams, so bland and unnecessary I forgot his name.

I happen to like Chris Williams. Liked him even more when he put Febreeze Bessent in his place.

He probably projects as doing what Geno Smith is doing now, a nickel safety.
