There is plenty of room in the ceiling to increase the incline of the rows, especially if they decrease the number of seats. And, maybe that is the reason for the decrease in seating capacity.

They better fix the Tide Pride stuff too because just reducing capacity won't change that 2,000 sold seats go unused for weekday games.

They won't though, which is why reducing the capacity that much is kinda pointless unless they're going to move the students down there.

Hope they keep seating at 14000 anything less won't be enough for a winning team. Avery should insist on that. JMO.

This sentence from an article has me probably the most encouraged about the plans.

I'm not thrilled with that big of a reduction in seats since we have the fanbase to pack a 12-15k arena if the team is worth watching, but if they are moving fans closer to the court, and putting a student section courtside it'll make up for it.

That's pretty small. It looks great, but I'm also curious how many seats that student section is. It didn't look very big.

We aren't going to bring 14k on a regular basis, no matter how good the team is.

Damn. I do like it, but that is a few minutes longer away than I was hoping. Can we at least go ahead and make the move for students to be Courtside? That might be my favorite thing about it.

Pending approval from the trustees and president, work wouldn't begin until after the 2019 football season.

The seating bowl of Coleman Coliseum will be completely gutted and rebuilt with two tiers and seats closer to the floor with new premium options. It will seat between 9,500 and 10,000 spectators -- a loss of around 4,000 -- and is planned to begin after the 2021-22 season

Well this is annoying. Coleman Coliseum is way more in need of the reno. But alas the Football-Only crowd rules the day and gets their changes first. Wouldn't surprise me if Coleman's reno keeps getting pushed back...
