The awful dark ceiling should be the first thing to go. Makes the whole arena look dark and dreary.

Let's say they reduce the capacity like most on here have advocated for. What do y'all think would be too small? Some of the games last year were already hard to get tickets for, but as far as butts in seats, we were definitely below the reported 13k average attendance.

I think 12.5k-13k would be ideal

I think it’ll be around 12k

Alabama had Herbert Jones, John Petty, and Kira Lewis attend the Nike Skills Academy. We sent more players than any other team in the country.

Last year we sent only 1 and you know who that was

11,000-12,000 would be ideal. Make it brighter inside and for god sakes bring the fans closer and put the students in a better spot to affect the game.

That's what I was thinking too. Under 12k is bordering on getting too small I think.

It'd be awesome if they could somehow reduce/increase capacity between weekday and weekend games, but that's probably fantasy land.

All from Alabama as well. Avery, Pettway, and company have done a great job recruiting but have benefited from an uptick of talent instate.

If we start winning, that size will be too small. If we go smaller, ticket prices will soar.

My father in law (retired landscaper) says he saw one 20’ and as big around as a softball. So this one was small in comparison. Not poisonous either according to him.

That one must have been a scrub python. The carpet python and olive python don't get nearly as large.

Back on topic... So, we're expecting news about Coleman today? I hope they get serious this time.

9k is too small for me. Even though the reported averages in the last 12 years are exaggerated, we've been around 11-12k. That's through some bad years with Gottfried, the end of the Grant era, and the beginning of Avery's. We just need an environment that recruits would love to play in and something special for the students.

Duke’s arena holds 9,314. It’s small but effective. I don’t want to go that small, but it could still work

They need to give the students better seating and get creative with their marketing to get them in there. The key to attendance is going to be students, most people in bham aren't going to drive to ttown on a tuesday for a game.

Wimp was just on wjox, and he said its gong to be 11,500.
He said he would have wanted 14,800. He said they are going to get the students closer to the floor. He thought they made it worse when the last renovation was done.
Wimp said he liked Coleman when he coached. The students were really good, and the crowds got into it.

It's going to be hard to get a ticket for an Oklahoma type game with that capacity. They better fix the Tide Pride stuff too because just reducing capacity won't change that 2,000 sold seats go unused for weekday games.

I just hope they can find a way to make the seats go up instead of out. If you can reconstruct it like a modern day arena, it'll be fairly loud even with sparse crowds. But if they keep it like it is now with you being half a mile from the court, it's hard to get much of an environment even with a packed house. That's why a place like Auburn is such a great arena. They're right on top of you. Even sitting in their upper deck last year, I still felt closer to the action than I ever have at Coleman Coliseum.
