There’s an legit chance Justin Coleman could be the starting PG for Arizona next year. He’s visiting Zona next week and they want him lol

Is Zona gonna be that bad next year? I know we play them in Coleman.

I heard they don’t have a PG and now they’re recruiting Justin, so I’m assuming they’re definitely gonna have a down year

We should Handle Zona rather easily next year

Arizona is losing basically everyone, but it's hard for to imagine them putting out a bad year. Hopefully they stay in the top 75 of RPI because it would suck for them to not even be a Q2 opponent.
I would think we'll try to add another good/solid opponent at home. I would like to see a good ACC team like NC State, Florida State, or Clemson again.

Well also play away against a Big 12 team for the SEC/Big 12 challenge

Yeah our schedule should look very good again. The OOC tournament were in is good. I would think vs Arizona, @UCF, and @URI will be at least Q2 games, and hopefully we draw a solid team from the Big XII. Our permanent x2 conference opponents LSU, Miss State, and Auburn all seem like tournament teams too.

I wouldn't be too concerned about Arizona hurting our RPI...They'll find a way to be a good team. That said , im looking forward to payback in Coleman. URI probably isn't gonna be too good on paper, but the big 12 opponent and UCF and the gildan classic will help our schedule.

I don't think we need to schedule as tough of an OOC this year, especially considering the difficulty of the SEC. The return games against UCF, Rhode Island, and Arizona plus the preaseason tourney and big 12 challenge is probably good enough.

Coleman is no better than Jr. How is he getting an Arizona offer?

Not "way better", but yes, I'd rather have Coleman, even though he was streaky.

It was a joke I've been argued on here plenty on how AJ is just as good as Coleman due to stats.

Disagree. Aj has a clutch gene and leadership ability that Coleman doesn't. Look at those shots he made late against Va Tech. Coleman doesn't make those.

How many of those shots did he have during the season. This leadership and clutch gene is stuff you're making up in your head.

I'd rather have Coleman's ball handling skills and his ability to drive and kick, but that's just me. Aj has shown he can finish around the basket which is something Coleman struggled with here.

They're not even comparable players
Avery Jr doesn't shoot well, pass well, or finish well. I understand Coleman didn't shoot well in his time at Bama but he had two different seasons under two different coaches. That can be tough. He was considered a really good shooter in high school and shot really well at Samford last year (57% TS%).
Plus, Coleman is way more proven as a passer (27% AST% in his soph year at Bama, an elite 37% at Samford last year, while Avery Jr put up a godawful-for-a-"PG" 10% last year).
You'd have to hide Coleman defensively but a high-major program is better equipped to do that than Samford. Georgia was fine defensively with JJ Frazier, Auburn was fine this past year with Harper, Florida was fine with Erving Walker, and so on. Coleman could add handles, passing, and shooting to a team as a backup PG. I'm not sure what Avery Jr offers beyond being not completely overmatched athletically. I guarantee you Avery Jr wouldn't be getting nearly the same looks as Coleman if he were a free agent
