I think it confirms Giddens being gone as well. Really hoping we do something better with that scholarship than Moyer. A grad transfer or a high quality, shot-blocking Center would be my choice. Don't get me wrong, I like Galin and think he has potential, but we're putting a lot of faith in him (and Fleming) replacing Hall. Especially considering we don't seem to be too hot after big men in the 2019 class.

I think the odds of that are fairly strong. I could see him going to a mid-major, dominating and spending his remaining year at a bigger school.

Giddens was a redshirt sophomore this year. Unless he did something incredible and graduates this semester, then he will have to sit out next year, and it will take a year of his eligibility. Would be sitting one to play one I believe.

I'm not sure that Key ever wanted to be here. I'm glad they are leaving if they aren't happy. Better for the transferring players and for Bama.

I agree. Key has always seemed to hate it here. He almost left last year. Probably would’ve been better for us if he had

Bamafan15, some guys gave you a little bit of a hard time when you first mentioned Key possibly transferring. You were right the entire time. Good job

I agree completely. That's why when you first mentioned Key transferring, it made sense. I don't know what his problem was, but he just didn't seem like he was satisfied here.

I just don't really get the Giddens thing. He'd have to sit out AGAIN right?
Why not just play here another year, graduate and go somewhere as a grad transfer......unless you just hate it (which I never thought was the issue, the issue was losing minutes).

Not that I'm doubting you, because I think Key is gone as well, but has it been reported he is leaving? Or do you have someone in the know about the situation?

It hasn’t been reported yet. Someone in the know told me he’s not coming back. He also made a cryptic Instagram post that insinuated it

It doesn't make any sense for Giddens to transfer. He'd have a better chance to make a good team as a grad transfer because he wouldn't be taking up a scholarship for two seasons. Like you said SOG, unless he just hates it, I don't see any benefit.

Exactly. Unless he just can't take it, would he rather be a 8-12 minute guy at Alabama on a good team, or go somewhere else and be a practice player for a year.
Either way he gets to play in games somewhere else in 2019-2020.

Maybe he just missed the press conference because he was sick or something, but us targeting a transfer implies we think four guys are departing.
