What do you guys want to see Avery improve on as a coach next season?

Beating mediocre teams at home, especially in late January and February.

Does anybody truly think he has good connections? Everything I've seen him call was stuff that was common knowledge on most message boards.
I had to unfollow Drew DeArmond because he always tweeted “#Expected” whenever some kid committed anywhere like he always knew exactly what the guy was gonna do. Please.

Is he the insufferable homer that's always ranting on 102.1 or whatever it is? I don't listen on the radio, but the videos pop up on my youtube stream.

Drew can be annoying but Ryan fowler is worse

Just keeping the team focused against teams we are better than and are suppose to beat. He does a great job in Big games just gotta start winning the games we are suppose to..

Less turnovers, much more consistency, a more settled rotation, and a better pressure defense.

Getting to a 92% chance of making the tournament with 5 games left and sealing that fricker up by handling biz.

Gongora, or anyone who knows, is there a reason Collin hasn’t announced his decision yet? It’s almost been a week since the season ended and 99% of the top draft prospects have already announced, but he hasn’t

I talked to a guy who is decently connected on Tuesday and he said Collin is legitimately giving thought to coming back. He told me that right now he was leaning 60/40 NBA.
Take it for what its worth this guy isnt super connected though.

Yeah, would be interesting to hear.
My thought is that he'll ultimately make the decision to declare for the draft but that he simply really enjoys college / playing college ball and is thinking it over.

I was thinking Collin and his family may be thinking that he could come back and play a full year with no missed games due to suspensions and injuries, and put up even better numbers, and then possibly go top 3 in next year’s draft class being that this year’s class is so strong.
But I still predict he goes to the NBA this year, and honestly that’s what he SHOULD do. I would hate for him to come back and hurt his draft stock.

He could just be waiting to announce he's going pro until his family finds the agent they want.

I hope Key stays. In our last 5 games, he had 8 assists to 6 TOs, and added 5 steals. Was a point away from a double double against AU.
I want Ingram back too. He shot 37.5% from 3 since the LSU game, 2nd on the team in rebounds BY FAR. More assists than TOs (same with Key). 2nd on the team in steals.
One thing I notice about these 2 guys is that they don’t have very quick feet. It makes their movements look more deliberate. And it leads to people here inaccurately calling them “lazy”, which they are not.
I agree. They've had struggles with consistent shooting and turnovers at times but are players that have the talent to contribute serious minutes as part of a very good team and have already shown as much (just not with enough consistency).
Seem like exactly the type players you want as juniors and seniors.

I guess that could be why. Like I said, I do not expect him to come back
Posted on 3/23/18 at 4:05 pm to Bamafan15
I cannot imagine a scenario in which he doesn’t at least declare and test the waters. I fully expect him to sign with agent as well.
Posted on 3/23/18 at 4:13 pm to Gongora
Thanks Gongora. That’s what I expect too. I wish we were all wrong and he’d come back tho

I would think they're sifting through agents but if it's true that his brother intimated that Colin isn't sure then maybe he really is thinking about coming back. I mentioned before that he's a different kid, and that's a good thing in today's generation. He might genuinely think if he comes back that it could help him get into the top 3 next year. Either way he's helped this program immeasurably.

Btw, if y’all want to see the pic Jordan Sexton posted and quickly deleted, google “He Doesn’t Know Yet Jesus Shuttlesworth”. It’s a basketball pic of a guy holding up a sign that says he doesn’t know yet

Off topic, but I’m in New Orleans this week and was in Jackson Square today. I walked up on the funeral precession of the Saints and Pelicans owner. As the folks were filing out and started walking down the street my son noticed Avery and his wife.
So put that in the rumor mill and spin it around.
