That's all you're going to get right now and at this point that really is all you want.

They shouldn't be saying a single word until they're absolutely certain they know everything that happened.

Well I just read the last 9 pages and talk about your ups and downs.

Based on what everyone has posted so far it appears we are going to be ok.

It still sucks to be in this position though.

I haven't been able to follow the story very closely but it seems to me the money was intended to bribe Baker to make the introduction. I doubt it ended up in the Sextons' hands. No way Baker would want to be present to witness money exchange.

Yeah. Right now we've just got the dogshait on our shoe.

Auburn's tracked it in the house.

Louisville fell in the septic tank.

No one pays $15k+ for an introduction but for delivery

I'd like to kick Baker in the nuts. Idiot.

What are these people thinking?

15k would be really low for delivery. If Sexton goes where he's projected, his rookie deal would be worth about $3 million in his first season. 15k is half a percent of that. Not to mention judging off of Sexton's popularity on Youtube, he's likely to sign a massive shoe contract early on.

It's not ridiculous to think an agent would spend 15k just to set up a meeting. If Baker secured a deal with Collin's dad, that'd be worth a hell of a lot more than 15k.

Everybody too tied up with the shredders to cut out for a meeting.

First, I hope the NCAA does the right thing and punishes the coaches not the players (who should be paid anyways), specifically both Alabama/Auburn. Any smart bball fan in our state should recognize that joint success + nationally relevant rivalry benefits both teams. Kids want to be a part of Duke/UNC or UK/Louisville rivalries, no one cares about the Egg Bowl between MSU/OM or Territory Cup Zona/Zona St

I've been posting in this thread long enough for the frequent bball posters to know I follow Bama bball, impressed by Avery and say positive things about Bama bball. I'm not from Alabama and didn't grow up hating Bama.

If you do the math, you have to have a pretty high success rate securing services if you pay $15,000 for just meetups. Got to remember payments to other middlemen + potential sign bonus for Baker + payment to Sexton to secure services

If you are an Agent meeting Colin Sextons dog is well worth 15k with all the hype he had. All you need is someone to listen to your pitch.

Money was offered but Sexton's dad turned it down. Even the FBI has cleared them.

So if baker confesses he took 15 why wouldn't he also admit he gave the sextons some money as well. Why would he leave that part out and have Alabama be in a situation where they vacate wins this upcoming season.

Maybe Baker was going to get more money and then he would have more to entice the sextons, so the sextons are free and clear.

Edit, ok, crazy, your post makes sense. I was going to mention that. Why would the sextons risk their sons eligibility for that low amount.

That would be unprecedented. I have never heard of vacating wins due to an ineligible player never even playing in a game.

FBI isn't after recruits/parents so they don't need to be "cleared" Recruits taking money isn't illegal, they aren't employees of federally funded universities

I haven't read anywhere where the FBI said "Sexton's dad turned it down" or tht they "cleared them"

The FBI did not release any information regarding whether or not money ended up with Sexton from what I've read. They've only said Baker got paid in relation to a meeting for Sexton. Whether Baker than gave money to Sexton isn't mentioned

I have seen no document saying any such thing.

I tend to think that since our guy wasn't arrested they don't think (or can't prove) money changed hands, but that's far from clearing anyone - particularly in the world of NCAA enforcement.

I'd hold of on making absolute statements for a while. At least until the University says something or you see Sexton hit the court on November 10th.

You can't assume that Sexton/Dad was paid. You can't rule it out as a possibility at this point either

Bama fans should feel somewhat safe, just not comfortable.

Then there is the EYBL thing. Not Sexton specific but any Nike school who signed multiple top EYBL kids should be worried. Hard to believe school/players are all clean

I just talked to someone who has been around the Sexton's a lot. He's not an Alabama fan. He said there's absolutely no way Collin or his family were influenced by anything outside of their family.

Gene,

You have made your point in our thread NUMEROUS times now, we know anything is possible. But nice to have an AU fan telling us in every other Post in this thread we may have some consequences, despite all the evidence at this point looks like we get past this.
