Carleton lost 76-64 to Towson. Kind of disappointing. I was hoping they'd be a very good opponent.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong., But judging strictly from the stats it looks like Petty went off and Colin underwhelmed. Did he foul out? Kudos to Petty but not what I wanted to see from Sexton.

Sexton scored 13 pts. That's not bad at all. Most of his scoring came early when the game feed wasn't working. But, he looked pretty good to me.

I don't think Colin was bad, but he didn't have a game up to his standards. He was pressing sometimes. I'm not sure if he fouled out because we played the bench for the whole 4th quarter.

Apparently McGill's gym doesn't have an AC.

Haha holy crap. The expectations that must be on a kid when he goes for 13 on 4/9 shooting, 4/4 FTs, 2 assists, a steal and a couple of rebounds in 20 minutes and he is "underwhelming".

What you will see this season is that Colin's true value is that he will make every player on the court better.

You could see it coming though, with a lot of the comments about him in the offseason. Some fans are expecting every game to look like one of his carefully spliced together highlight videos.

Well, basketball is normally a winter sport and they're in Canada.

A cracked window and a box fan is probably all they normally need to keep it a crisp 50f or so.

I watched most of the stream and I was ecstatic. These guys have been practicing together for days. Execution is going to be somewhere between bad and awful at this point. The main thing was holy cow we are athletic and talented. Giddens, Petty and Sexton completely change our team.

I'm not sure how you could have watched the practice and then that game and not come away extremely excited about the potential of this group for the season.

The highs for this week in Montreal (in early August) are :
74, 74, 80, 81, 74, 75, 76, 76

A lot of places in New England and the Pacific Northwest don't have A/C either.

Agreed. This CAN be the best team we've seen in a very long time at Bama. And, I mentioned it once already, but I'll say it again - I knew Petty would be good, but I think I may have underestimated him a little. That kid is going to be really, really good.

Totally agree. He got lost in the legitimate Sexton lovefest, but Petty is going to be a star.

Him having Sexton is going to allow his true potential to show

My thought all offseason has been that Sexton's presence alone will open things up so much that Petty, Key, Norris, Davis and Ingram will have so much more room to operate that all of them should improve their shooting numbers.

I think it's also important to note that we were without Ingram last night. He's one of our better all around players. I think he's more valuable than Key.

Do y'all still see Petty off the bench or do y'all think he'll start over Riley, Key, or Ingram?
