If he signed in the early signing period by sending in his LOI, doesn't he have to sit for a year if he goes somewhere else even if Bama releases him? Or can we release him completely from the LOI without affecting his eligibility to immediately play elsewhere?

If you listen to all the commentators mostly ESPN ones when we played so early games on there they all said TFerg signed

They said it because they were uninformed and just assumed he signed. You don't keep an LOI quiet. Schools don't contact you after you sign an LOI. That's why him signin silent LOI, schools continuing to contact him, and then him ultimately decommitting is completely implausible. The only thing he could have signed for this to be legal or actually happen is a financial aide agreement.

Yeah I have to agree. None of it makes any sense but can't dwell on one guy.

First, would you email me crimson crazy? Cfrichards526@gmail.com

Second, he can't say he's decommitting to "stay close to home" and then go to Kansas. Dallas is as close to Lawrence as it is to Tuscaloosa. It is always sad when somebody loses a loved one, but I just feel like he played the staff and was never planning on signing here.

Baylor is the trending pick for Ferguson. All but one of 247's predictions since decommitting have been Baylor.

Was that the info that you are emailing out? Or is there something else? If so, I want in on it too!

Just asked Jerry Meyer, what he thinks caused it...

@jerrymeyer247: @BamaBBallGuy a lot of behind the scene moving parts in this one. Gotta save it for the book one day.

Sounds like he thinks something stinks.

Yeah. They brought out the checkbook to mama. That's exactly what ruins college basketball for me.

I wish Baylor would get the death penalty in every sport.

I figured Meyer must have known something when he said Bama's best served by just letting him go. Made no sense unless things got dirty.

Wouldn't be remotely surprising with Baylor

Was anybody else there? I thought my friend had misunderstood. But maybe not.

This is close to the truth, and I would recommend editing your post/deleting it.

The rumor, which a certain member of the coaching staff confirmed at the TOC, was that he signed but did not want it publicized. I believe speaking directly about a recruit at the event would constitute a recruiting violation.

Has that rule changed recently? Coaches used to be able to talk about recruits once they sign. If he didn't sign why did Pett say he had?

If he signed, I'm pretty sure the coaches could say anything that they wanted. If it was just financial papers, then they couldn't say anything.
