Time frame? What other teams are in it for them?

I just hope we don't stop recruiting for this year. We need one more quality post player for next year, IMO.

Unfortunately, there aren't any quality posts to be had this late unless signees back out of their LOI. We shouldn't take a high school scrub just for the sake of taking someone. I agreed with that philosophy when we only had 9 players, but it's a little different when there's 12.

Anybody find anything out about the rumored visit we had yesterday? Heard a rumor that it was a transfer.
Also a UT writer talked to Cofer about his recruitment on Rivals. I wish I knew if he said anything about us in the article.......

Philip Cofer says he's getting the most interest from the following teams: Tennessee, Memphis, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech

Cofer plans to visit Florida State next weekend. Also wants to visit Knoxville for an official visit. Didn't take one previously.

The only thing I have seen was by one guy on tidesports that typically has good info. I don't understand why people are so cryptic with this stuff.

I saw that other Bama site is going to have E'torrion Wilridge on there. If we were to land him, you'd think Austin would be forced out.
I read an article from March where he said who had offered and Alabama wasn't mentioned. It'll be interesting to see what he says on the chat.

Apparently Austin played better in the other AAU games, so I'm not sure what to think of him. Seems like a reach thus far, but probably not enough to warrant forcing him out. Plus, if we don't fill another scholarship this class, I think we'll be taking 2 wings anyways in 2015. I know he struggled this past year, but have you seen what his final stats were?

No I don't know what he ended up doing for Carver. A guy that's committed to Alabama should be having a big impact in our state though since basketball isn't all that great.

Former Tennessee commit CJ Turman - a 2014 center from Morgan County (GA) - will visit Florida Atlantic this weekend, a source confirms.

UGA AND ALABAMA TAKE A LOOK
UGA and Alabama both had some heavy interest in another former Tennessee signee, CJ Turman, according to his AAU coach.
“But they’ve got that rule where you can’t transfer to another SEC school without having to sit out two years,” Michael Stokes told the AJC. “It’s totally unjust but it is what it is.”
“I think he’s going to visit Florida Atlantic this weekend. We’ve got a good relationship with those coaches, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Florida Atlantic.”
Turman is a 6-8 forward from Morgan County High School.

It looks like zlw knows who the mystery transfer is. My guess is it's Pollard.

The way his juco coach talked made it seem like we definitely weren't an option. If it was him though, I wouldn't be too against it. We could definitely do worse.

I'd be fine with it, but I'm tired of having players who struggle with the mental aspects of basketball and there is no one who I've seen struggle more with that than Pollard. Athletically, you couldn't find a better basketball player, but he's like a deer in the headlights out there. It's understandable with his mom putting a ridiculous amount of pressure on him and everything that's gone wrong in his life (which is A LOT). Like I said before, he's got unreal potential, so there would be some definite upside to signing him if we could develop him.

I laugh at that second one every time I see it.

I'd love to have him, but I wonder how him and Grant would get along...

If he could provide 10-15 good minutes and knock down a few 3s, I'm sure Grant could deal with him being a douche on the court.

Grant don't deal with Douche hot shots and I for one like that about him. Hondo was an embarrassment to Ole mrs.
On a side note. A Steele is new BB coach at John Carroll, where he and big bro played HS hoops
