Truth.

I'm not even frustrated about today, and I don't think we really blew it or anything. Sure we could have had a chance, but Florida turned it on and brought their A game in the last ten minutes. And let's face it, their A game, especially in Gainesville, is a lot better than ours. Frankly I think we played and competed way better than most expected, and at the end of the day we're very much in play for an at-large bid.

Lunardi has us as first team out. I'll take it. UT is the last team in and Ole Miss drops to just 5th team out (not sure how).

Apparently we dropped 3 spots today in RPI. I'm stunned. I thought for sure we'd be moving up with all of the losses and the SOS boost.

EDIT: Nvm. I don't think ESPN updated yet because it still has us as 0-0 against RPI top 25. But we have dropped 3 spots since after the Auburn game apparently.

I think we'd move up a little bit, I have zero understanding of the RPI though besides it's basic formula

Palm and Lunardi have very different views on our chances. On twitter, Palm said he didn't think beating Ole Miss and UGA and getting to the SEC semis would be good enough. Meanwhile, Lunardi has us first team out. Palm was dead on two years ago when he was adamant that we wouldn't get a bid, and right now I tend to lean more to his side than Lunardi on our current standing. However, when I look at the teams Lunardi lists behind us, I don't think any of them should get in over us Just a strange year with so many bad teams in the mix. One thing we're sorely lacking is a marquee win, and we'll need to pick one up in Nashville over Florida, Missouri, or even Kentucky again IMO. One thing those teams behind us mostly have is that big win (for example Arky at home vs Fla and Maryland at home vs Duke). It's been discussed, but our conference schedule kinda killed us not giving us a chance at a big win on our court against subpar road teams like Mizzou or lately Florida. To summarize my ramblings, I think we obviously have to beat Ole Miss and UGA and then advance to the championship game in Nashville. If we're the two seed, our first game in the quarterfinal just won't be an impressive enough win. Hopefully there's more bubble carnage along the way like we saw tonight though that will make just one win in Nashville enough.

Palm is a douchebag but until he feels that we are in, I won't think we have a real shot. None of this matters if we don't win Tuesday though. And it's such a struggle for any Alabama team to win there. It's hard to have any confidence whatsoever.

This tweet from professor dick-weed gives me a little hope though.

Still don't think we get in without 1 with our bad losses, but it gives me some hope that they might look more at our RPI 50-100 record in which we cleaned up pretty well.

Hopefully they take our lack of top 50 win opportunities in conference play into account. Nothing we can do about that.

Yea, we've played four top 50 teams and they've all been true road games. It's not like any of the other bubble teams have marquee road wins, they just took advantage of home game opportunities that we didn't have. Villanova continuing to win may not be the worst thing ever if they get into the top 50. At least then we'll have a top 50 win on a neutral court by 22.

UVA lost to a BC team that might lose to State.

Damn that's a real bad loss, that will negate whatever bounce they got from beating Duke

Yep. Very bad loss. BC is awful.

I am starting to feel like we can play our way in with 2 wins this week and 1 or 2 SECT wins. We absolutely have to win the next 3 though. Otherwise we definitely won't make it.

I kept checking that score on my drive back to Tuscaloosa

With the way everybody is completely melting down, I agree that 3 straight wins should probably be good enough. Do y'all think we are going to win Tuesday?

I think we will. I hope that team just completely rolls over on Kennedy after Saturday. It'll also help if Henderson shoots like .08% again like he did yesterday.

Yeah. I noticed against State that they were pretty physical with him which really got him off his game. Hopefully we'll be extremely physical as well. Who do you think will be guarding him?

He's short, so I think Levi could do a good job with him.
