Maryland and Wichita State (Bubble teams) had bad losses today to GTech and Evansville.

This bracket was posted on tiger rant

Think we need Bama to stay in the bottom half of the bracket..........unless we finish #1

Also, shouldn't the first round brackets be moved up? Giving the top seeded team in each side(#1,#2) the possibility of playing a team on their third game in three days, along with them being a bottom four team.

I see what you're saying, but that wouldn't make sense logistically. The bracket wouldn't work. If you moved it up, who would play the winner of AU/USCe? You can't have the 8 seed do it and have teh 5 and the 9 play in their first game.

That bracket would be nice for us. No Tennessee in the first game, and assured to only have to play either Mizzou or UK on the way to the final and not both. Like you said though, the big thing is avoiding Florida and just hope for the best draw you can get after that.

I knew the second round games would also need to be adjusted, but I got lazy and didn't want to figure it out myself. But just in general, as a higher seed I would want that opportunity. The 5-9 seeded teams, I think are going to be a wash more often than not. Meaning the opportunity to play a team on their third day is a definitive advantage, imo.

I'm sure smarter people than me set the brackets up and they spend more than five minutes looking at it, but that one thing just jumps out at me.

Well you have to make the brackets with the assumption that the best seeded teams would advance. The way it is now the #1 seed gets to play the #8 seed in it's first game, which would be the lowest seeded team. It's set up just like an NCAAt regional really after the Wednesday games. You also don't assume that the teams playing Wednesday would win again Thursday to make all this relevant. It's much easier than having an 8 seed play a 12 seed in it's first game, and the 9 seed have to play a 5.

My only problem is I don't want to play Mizzou in the first damn round, and I'd rather avoid them all together, and with the games they have left that is quite possible. Then again if we somehow beat them and UK it would help build our resume if we do go 2 for 3 to end the regular season. I just don't like how we matchup with Mizzou at all.

That's why this bracket is so nice, we wouldn't play Mizzou in the first game and if we did play them at all they would've had to play an extra game. You're right though, they're a really bad matchup for us.

It's going to be crazy to see how the seeding unfolds over the next three games. We're far from assured of a top 4 seed, and also in play for the #1 seed (mathmatically )

Yeah I hope we avoid Mizzou at all costs. Them and Florida are the only two teams I don't want to play.

On another note, I stole bonafide's sig for bamamag and got a private message within like 10 minutes to take it down. Screw that site.

And Lunardi is so full of it. A couple bubble teams in front of us lose and that pushes us out of his first 4 out

Tonight we should be riding the jocks of the following teams:

Duke (@Virginia)
Gonzaga (@BYU)
Detroit (@Temple)
Utah (@Cal)
Clemson (vs UNC)
USCe (vs Mizzou)

Slow night for dick-riding so I included the last two, though UNC and Mizzou are probs in regardless.

I read this on twitter last night: @ESPNLunardi
LAST IN: UVa, Temple, Nova, Ole Miss. FIRST OUT: Tennessee, Baylor, Boise, Arizona St (pending UCLA final). NB: Kentucky one spot above UVa.

I don't think we are that close though either.

In all fairness he did list Bama as having only a 20% shot before the Auburn game which was the lowest of all the first 8 out.

Well after clearing the difficult Auburn hurdle that should have jumped up to like 40%

It's stuff like that that makes you realize how silly the RPI can be sometimes I mean, we're paying attention to games involving Florida Gulf Coast and Nebraska Omaha because they can improve our NCAA chances.

His updated odds probably have us at 20.5% now.

Bubble winners included: NC State,

I love this sentence from CBS. NC State is obviously going to get in, but I love to see Gottfried crashing and burning at a faster rate than I even thought he would. They were predicted to win the ACC this year, and he has them included in bubble talk (albeit very little bubble talk). Those fools gave him a raise and an extension after winning a couple of games as an 11 seed last year, and now like we all knew they would, they're on pace to turn into Georgia Tech or something.

Good God I hate that guy.

He will get them in the tournament most years as long as he is getting the talent. If he has a couple of bust classes in a row it will turn them into a dumpster fire though. Great talent can overcome inept coaching, but average talent cannot.
