I’d say group A because of playing the defending champs and who knows when we’d get either Houston or Baylor at home again.

The bham game not being in the season ticket package allows us to call it “neutral” site which is significantly better for our NET.

I too was at the practice yesterday. Quick thoughts:

Bediako will be a difference maker. Shot blocker and will catch many lobs and dump offs for dunks. Just don’t expect back to the basket post moves.

Jusaun holt exceeded my admittedly low expectations. Looked like he belonged. Rebounded strong for a guard and shot the ball very well exclusively from three. Has a nice quick repeatable shot. I don’t know what his role will be but he’s an asset.

JD showed excellent vision. Continually got to the rim and made the right pass. Excellent at sprayouts. Has elite speed in transition. Didn’t attempt a 3 during any scrimmage portion as far as I could tell. Didn’t take many shots from anywhere.

Gurley was fine. Didn’t impress but didn’t do anything negative really either.

Ambrose-Hylton didn’t practice.

Shack did indeed knock the bottom out of shots. Ellis did too.

JQ still looks great. Gary was wide open making plays. Hit 3 threes in the scrimmage.

Tchikou has great size but isn’t the athlete that bediako is.

I was there also and I agree with your observations. To my old eyes it was a very physical practice with the trainer tending to a least three players but no blood no foul. This should be a fun year.

Just my thoughts, but I don’t think our basketball account would’ve tweeted anything had we not won / played well.

We won by Double Digits. Ellis and Shack had 16 points.

Somewhat sloppy(expected for first scrimmage)

Alabama wins by double digits. Plenty of turnovers as you’d expect. Keon Ellis and Jaden Shackelford @jayunooo lead Crimson Tide with 16 each.

How is Ga Tech suppose to be this year?

Norlander had them in his top 60 team rankings this year so they’re a projected NIT type team I think.

Yeah...people on Rivals are saying Offense didn’t look good. We cannot start slow offensively again this season. We just can’t.

I don’t think offense will be awesome to start, but with this many returning guards, we shouldn’t be as awful as the first two years.

We need to calm down because Coach Oats already said that we aren't working on offense right now! I'm sure they are trying to get everyone to buy in defensively!

Who isn’t calm? I think it’s great that we beat what should be a decent Tech team by double figures. I also think it’s a really good sign Gurley was able to score double figures.
