Yeah and he hasn't done well either. Started off with two walks and gave up 3 runs in the inning.

Final 15-10 good guys

Yes and we gave up 10. Not a good sign going into this weekend.

All three games against MSU are available either on TV or online. Thursday's game is on ESPN3, Friday is on CBSSN, and Saturday is on CSS & ESPN3.

With Turnbull having to pitch last Saturday after Friday's rainout, the rotation for this week will be Bramblett, Turnbull, and then Kamplain. I assume Keller is still out, it'd be nice to have him back by next week otherwise the pitching for the first game or two in Hoover would very much be by committee.

ETA: Keller is available out of the pen this week, working himself back to full strength. Three weeks ago he was our #1 starter, it'd be nice to get that back (or something close to it) for the postseason.

Yea that'd be nice.

Meanwhile tonight it's 1-0 MSU in the 3rd. They got a run in the third inning with a two-out single, wild pitch, and another hit. After a walk and another wild pitch, Bramblett got a strikeout to strand two more in scoring position.

We're so impatient offensively. Their guy has only thrown 15 pitches thru two innings. I honestly think we've only taken two pitches.

1-1 now. Overstreet with a two-out hit scoring White. Still two on in the 4th. Smith grounds out.

1-1 going to the 5th.

State takes the lead right back. Single, sac bunt, and an infield single (could've been an error) put runners at the corners with one out. RBI groundout and then a two-out single make it 3-1. Salem misses the cutoff man so there's another runner in scoring position with two outs. If Overstreet makes the tough play on the infield hit, no runs would've crossed.

ETA: Overstreet boots another, 4-1. Not much has been going our way these past few weeks.

Another two-out hit puts runners at 1st and 2nd for MSU in the 5th. Bramblett's done and Castillo comes on, desperately needing to limit any further damage. Tough luck for Bramblett tonight, he pitched pretty well and really didn't get hit very hard for the most part. Not much help from his defense in this rough 5th inning.

His arm his horrible, but he also tracks down a lot of catches other people wouldn't get to. All in all I'd say he's above average. His good speed helps us more often than his terrible arm comes into play.

Chance to answer right back. Hughston with a lead off single and then Vincent reaches on an error. 1st and 3rd with no outs.

Cucjen pops out into shallow left. With White ahead in the count 2-0, MSU is making a pitching change. 1st and 3rd still, one out.

ETA: White hits a perfect double play ball to third, but State is unable to make a good relay throw. Run scores, White at 1st with two-outs. 4-2. Salem flies out to end the 5th.

Each time we've scored, we've allowed State to score in the next half inning. They've scored twice in the 6th, 6-2. And of course this inning started with a leadoff walk. Then MSU does all the right things. Base hit, sac bunt, sac fly, base hit. They're tearing Castillo up, who's been decent lately. State has 10 hits tonight, all singles.

A really pathetic effort so far, considering what's at stake.

We're really just not any good right now.

Couple of walks set up MSU to score a couple more runs in the seventh, 9-2.

A really dumb decision by CMG to start Bramblett tonight, instead of Turnbull. This was a huge game, and our team/coach did not treat it as one or approach it with the necessary sense of urgency. That is extremely disappointing.

We left a couple in scoring position in the 7th. Hubbsrd on to pitch the eighth, pretty much throwing in the towel on this one. Important work for him though, we're desperate to find anybody we can count on out of the pen.

I actually agree with the decision to hold Turnbull till tomorrow. He just pitched his best game in weeks on Saturday. He's had a week off between every start this year, I think bringing him back today would've been too quick. Having him healthy and fresh is more important than whether he threw game one or game two this weekend. I'm sure Gaspard was tempted to throw him today, but he did the reasonable thing in my opinion.

I'm kinda tired of Gaspard running the same lineup out there every day though when they aren't producing at all. This is looking like the 8th time in 9 SEC games we'll score three runs or less. I understand we don't have a lot of guys on the bench we could plug in, but he could juggle the lineup some. Don't know why our best hitter all year long continues to bat 6th.
