I don't think this is the last time we experience a loss like Vanderbilt or Oklahoma. Matchups, motivations, a week-to-week grind combined with thinner rosters with fewer guys ready to play thanks to the combo of pay for play and perpetual free agency...it is a combination for bad losses.

Another thing to consider is all those factors combined with road game disadvantages. I think Alabama is .500 in SEC road games since the start of the 2021 season. Some of the road wins have been clunky ones like 2021 Florida where they struggled against a team that ended up firing their coach later that season. They have two miracle wins v. 6-6/5-7 quality Auburn teams too.

I think we probably gonna have to get use to Alabama no longer going into opponent's stadiums and emptying the stands by the 4th quarter. Seasons are probably going to mostly come down to road game performance and most of them are going to be tight.

This is all spot on and I completely agree. The good news is this is true for the other big boys in the conference as well.

Actual scheming, preparation and in-game coaching is gonna be a premium now that you cant just out talent teams.

Auburn gets a bye and Mercer. Basically 3 weeks to prepare for Bama.

They’ll probably lose to Mercer though
