Five-star Young leads Premium to Adidas National Championship (247Sports)

Adidas hosted 32 of the best 7-on-7 teams in the country and Young and company stayed poised as they trailed Ground Zero every time the offense took the ball but always had an answer to bring home the hardware in a 29-28 victory.
“Bryce Young is the best quarterback in the country,” Premium founder Malik James said of the All-American who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 dual-threat passer in the country. “All he does is win. Since I’ve know Bryce since the seventh grade I haven’t seen too many losing moments for him.”

In a close race between a few prospects, the nod goes to Top247 offensive lineman Chris Morris, considering he defeated another candidate in Desmond Evans to cap the one-on-one portion of the event (video above). Against the long and athletic Evans, Morris won with extension and athleticism. Evans countered with power and despite knocking the blocker off balance initially, he recovered in time to split the rep. The final battle between the two, as it got a bit rowdy, was won by Morris’ inside stab and redirection.
The Memphis (Tenn.) Freedom Prep Academy offensive tackle sits strong at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds with long arms and great movement skill. He can get depth in his pass set without much effort and has the punch to force a defender to get to his secondary move in a hurry. He keeps a low base and doesn’t shuffle his plane no matter the defender’s approach; a dominant day. More than 34 programs have offered but the Arkansas Razorbacks hold a pair of 247Sports Crystal Ball selections at this time.

2. Javon Baker
The most polished route-runner on the afternoon, out of Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern, won routes at every stage Sunday. He was strong off of the line with a diverse release package, drove off of his initial move well with quickness and finished plays with great range and hands despite consistent contests. Baker is committed to Alabama.
4. Dacari Collins
Another class of 2021 prospect on the list, and another from McEachern, Collins scored more touchdowns than any pass catcher down the stretch of the event. His legit 6-foot-4 frame and long arms made it tough for defenders to make plays on the football even while in position to. Collins runs mature routes for his age and can push the secondary vertically as well. 20 offers are in for the rising-junior with Georgia, Alabama and Florida high on the list.

News and Notes
Fellow 2021 prospect Chaz Chambliss, a linebacker at Carrollton (Ga.) High, was among the most fluid linebacker prospects through drills and in coverage. Despite being closer to 240 pounds or so, he moves like he is much lighter to the point he could be in line to occupy a hybrid front-seven role down the line. More than two-dozen programs have already offered the sophomore.

Bama commit Caden Clark stars at The Opening Regional Ohio (247Sports)

Caden Clark (4-star TE | Akron/Hoban) was clearly one of the top performers in Massillon on Sunday and he was much faster and athletic than we have seen in the past. There were no blocking drills for tight ends and this is a huge strength in Clark's game, but he used his speed to get open in passing drills and also used his body to out-muscle defenders for the football. Clark is known for work ethic and he continues to get better each year. He plays in a run-heavy offense and they blow people out weekly, so we rarely get to see him catch the football much in games, but he proved Sunday that he is a top-notch pass receiver in addition to being an excellent blocker.

Jalen Kimber (3-star CB | Mansfield, TX) has easily been one of the best defensive backs during the first half of the camp series as he had a phenomenal showing at the Dallas stop by knocking away numerous passes and generally being a complete nuisance for any receiver during one-on-one routes. Currently a three-star prospect, Kimber could easily make the case for a bump in the next rankings after his Rivals Camp Series performance. Colleges are taking notice, too, since the Mansfield (Texas) Timberview standout has been loading up on major offers recently and has been busy on visits.

Transferring Alabama DB Kyriq McDonald commits to AAC school (BamaOnLine)

A now-former Alabama player has found a new home in the American Athletic Conference. Defensive back Kyriq McDonald has committed to transfer to Cincinnati, according to Chad Brendel of Bearcat Journal.
McDonald entered the NCAA transfer portal in early February, along with long snapper Scott Meyer, and received offers from Florida State, Mississippi State, Louisville, Purdue and Memphis. However, Meyer is still on the Crimson Tide roster and practicing. McDonald visited Cincinnati on Thursday.
McDonald filled a role in the Alabama secondary and on special teams this past season after redshirting his first year in Tuscaloosa. He totaled seven tackles and a quarterback pressure through 11 games of action in his redshirt freshman campaign and was named one of the Alabama coaches’ special teams players of the week for his play against Mississippi State and Auburn.
McDonald was the No. 22 player in Alabama and No. 45 cornerback in 2017, per the 247Sports Composite. Alabama signed five defensive backs during the early signing period of the 2019 cycle.
Established in October of last year, the NCAA’s transfer portal now allows student-athletes to merely enter their name into an online database and merely wait for collegiate teams to contact them. It is also worth noting that players can withdraw their name from the portal, too. But McDonald is now on his way to Cincinnati.
Alabama has already lost two players to transfer in backup quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is now at Oklahoma, and reserve offensive lineman Richie Petitbon, who chose to transfer to Illinois.

“I just really wanted to go there,” the Attalla (Ala.) Etowah product said. “I didn’t want to waste any time, so I just went ahead and committed. I really didn’t have the urge to build it up and everything. I just wanted to be a part of the Crimson Tide family, so I pulled the trigger.”
The Tide staff, including his primary recruiter Holmon Wiggins, were happy to learn of Wright’s decision. “They were excited and they were ready for me to get back down there,” Wright said, recalling how the coaches reacted when he told them. “It was exciting.”
Excitement is an understatement when it comes to hometown reaction, as Wright says people out in public have been telling him Roll Tide and congratulations since he’s announced his decision.

Wright is rated the No. 26 athlete and the No. 392 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Every time Flowe steps on the field he goes non-stop, so it’s not surprising that he impressed once again during the Los Angeles stop of the camp series in February. What makes the hard-hitting linebacker so special is that he thrives in a camp setting, but during drills and in pass coverage. There’s a reason that Flowe is wanted by every major program in the country and is ranked inside the top five of the Rivals100 and he showed it in Los Angeles.
