Crazy to think 2008 is that far down the list when they are The Godfathers of the Saban Dynasty.

The overall size of that class is what drags the average down. We signed like 36 kids that year.

It’s not always about stars. That group was hungry to start something. That group had a dog mentality. I wish we could get a roster full of that attitude again.

There were only 5 in the top 100, 2 (Tyler Love and BJ Scott) never saw the field and 1 (Jerrel Harris) wasn’t really elite.

Out of the 32 or 33 signed only 12 were significant contributors.

BJ Scott has two profiles in that link. One as BJ and another as Burton Scott.

They aren't even close to being ranked the same either.

ETA: BJ Scott - #27 overall
Burton Scott - #165 overall

What the frick?

What is crazy is that the Top 4 players from the state of Alabama that we signed that year were

1. Julio Jones
2. Burton Scott
3. Tyler Love
4. Jerrell Harris

Basically, 1 all-time great and 3 busts (though Jerrell had a very nice senior year).

If Marcel Dareus wasn't a grade risk Rivals admitted he would have been higher in their rankings way back when.

Also wish Bolton would have made it, guy had the skills to be a athletic LB or HBack.

Also a throwback, Corey "I kicked in a windstorm" Smith

Robby Green was one of the players I thought would turn out being a big time contributor but could not stay out of his own way. Happy to see has turned it around.

Brandon Frazier is announcing tonight.

I hope we don't regret backing off him.
