So... To'oto'o almost flipped and signed with Bama after he committed to utk yesterday. He was apparently in conversation (that he initiated) with Bama up until about 5 last night before he finally signed with them. Believe his dad had the final say. I know that "almost" doesn't count in recruiting, but I still found that interesting.

do away with signing day.
Interesting concept. Was there any talk about the prospect signing the LOI while on campus? I could imagine a scenario where a coach could apply some pressure, a recruit getting carried away and binding himself to a school prematurely.

Anyone who would not only allow, but in fact force their child to attend the UT-Chattanooga satellite campus in Knoxville should have their parental rights taken away IMO. That's basically extreme child abuse.

That’s funny, but at the same time we ended up with Tua and Lia for the same reason. Polynesian culture is family driven. Oh well, I wish him all of the luck in the world except for the 3rd Saturday in October.

Seriously it was a dumb decision on his part. This is no sour grapes. He made the worst possible choice for himself. If he did not choose to play for The Goat and a school in a dynasty run for the ages he should have gone to a West Coast,NorCal school.Plenty of choices there. Going to play so far away for Tennessee because an alum is working there temporarily is just ludicrous .
Let's see if he sticks. DeLasalle had a TE who went to Michigan recently; he lasted almost a year.

Yeah that was the big knock on the concept; a kid would get pressured into a decision he wasn’t ready for. But that’s part of the problem. When you commit, it should be a COMMITMENT, not a half arse impulse with your fingers crossed behind your back. Allow kids to sign any time after September 1 of your senior year. And it’s part of the maturity process, learning that your commitment means something. I think if this proposal was being seriously considered, they should make a 48 hour cooling off period after a visit. Kid can’t sign on a visit, official or unofficial, and for 48 hours after leaving campus. Then, if he still wants to sign, go for it.

The parents of the prospect have to sign too. So it doesn't really matter if the kid signs on his visit ; it will only count with his parents blessing. A 48 hour cooling period is still a good idea.

It's not abuse because the parents have final say. It's abuse because despite all the places he could have ended up, they used that final say to send their kid to a shite heap like Tennessee.

Saint, that gif is EPIC! Yes, I am easily entertained. Yes I've watched several hours of professional darts tournaments in one sitting.

During the Winter Olympics, I watch hours of curling
I end up cussing the Americans like dogs. Reminds me of Bama basketball

If you like barely interesting competition that just meets the threshold of being a sport, the winter olympics is where it is at
. My favorite being biathlon although I would prefer they bring back Military Patrol.

Early storylines to watch in the 2020 class (247Sports | embedded video)

With the 2019 recruiting class pretty much in the books, 247Sports shifts its focus to the 2020 cycle with storylines already evolving.
CLEMSON BEGINS MARCH TO LOADED 2020 CLASS
Clemson won’t be able to sign a big class, but the group the defending national champs do bring in will have a chance to be the best in the nation with a freak at every position.
The Tigers are starting to trend on the 247Sports Crystal Ball for the nation’s No. 1 prospect, five-star defensive end Bryan Bresee, and have been considered the leader for quite some time regarding the top-ranked quarterback in the class in DJ Uiagalelei. As things stand right now, I could see Bresee and Uiagalelei battling for the No. 1 prospect spot with Uiagalelei currently checking in at No. 9.
Other top targets for Clemson include the nation’s No. 1 receiver Julian Fleming, defensive lineman Jordan Burch and cornerback Fred Davis II, who all rank five-stars. The Tigers inked five five-stars, including Trevor Lawrence, in a smaller 2018 class and Dabo Swinney and his staff are in position to do something similar in 2020.

ABOUT THE RACE FOR NO. 1 ...
Bresee and Uiagalelei are certainly two in the mix to finish No. 1, with Bresee topping our Top247 rankings since the initial release. Pushing Uiagalelei out West includes linebackers Sav'ell Smalls and hard-hitter Justin Flowe who is as good a football prospect as there is in this class. Other names to keep an eye on include Ohio State offensive tackle commit Paris Johnson Jr., defensive lineman Myles Murphy and athlete Arik Gilbert, who have the body types coveted for a top-tier ranking. Four more no-brainers in the 2020 cycle are Fleming, linebacker Mekhail Sherman and a pair of cornerbacks in speedster Kelee Ringo and LSU commit Elias Ricks.

BAMA OFF TO HOT START IN 2020
Alabama will look to start a new streak at the top of the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings after reclaiming No. 1 in 2019. Georgia snapped the Crimson Tide’s seven-year run of recruiting national championships in the 2018 cycle. Nick Saban and his staff are in pole position right now with 10 commits headlined by five-star defensive end Chris Braswell. LSU, Miami, Ohio State and Clemson round out the early top five.

AN INCREDIBLE RUNNING BACK CLASS
This appears to be a terrific year at the running back position with Zachary Evans currently leading the way. Six backs hold five-star distinction according to the 247Sports Composite Player Rankings with Kendall Milton, Oklahoma commit Jase McClellan, Chris Tyree, MarShawn Lloyd and Demarkcus Bowman the other five. Three more are among the Top50 overall prospects: Bijan Robinson, Tank Bigsby and Miami commit Don Chaney Jr.

MANY ELITE QBs ALREADY OFF THE BOARD
Several quarterbacks have already made early decisions led by the nation’s No. 1 dual-threat passer Bryce Young who is in the boat for USC. Tennessee has a verbal from touted Top247 passer Harrison Bailey and another highly-recruited signal-caller in Jack Miller is in the fold for Ohio State. LSU has two committed in Max Johnson and TJ Finley, while Texas has their guy in local recruit Hudson Card, Notre Dame has picked up Drew Pyne and South Carolina is keeping prized in-state target Luke Doty home. We also saw two quarterback decommit in the last week in Anthony Richardson from Florida and Carson Beck from Alabama. Beck’s recruitment is quickly blowing up, as will several others as things in 2020 take off.
