I had a pretty good feeling it was Jase.. that will be a huge pick up. I just want Washington now too and we are all set. If we don’t get him or JJ.. let’s hit the transfer portal and get us one. Oh and add Smith at WR.. then we are set..lol

I may be in the minority here but Billingsley looked a lot like a young Irv Smith out there to me. I thought TE was a need in the recruiting class but don't necessarily agree there's a need to get one in the portal. Just target one high next year

Per Hank's update 90 minutes ago I'm all in on Jase McClellan being the "tic toc" surprise that Sunseri tweeted about.
"Nick Saban and Karl Scott visited with longtime Oklahoma running back commit Jase McClellan on Tuesday night in Aledo, Texas, the second time the Crimson Tide staff has been out to see him since Friday... [fast-forward] ...he’s kept the process very close to the vest, but sources relayed they feel Bama is trending down the stretch. ...there’s some confidence around Alabama right now in this recruitment." -- LINK ]HS
ETA: Landing Jase won't impact Edwards' spot.

Maybe already mentioned, but Hank and Watts CB'd Javion Cohen to Bama.
Wiltfong and AU mod Keith Niebuhr have also CBd Javion Cohen to Bama.

The Crimson Tide made a splash on the recruiting trail Wednesday, landing four-star offensive tackle and longtime Auburn Tigers pledge LINK ]Javion Cohen. The four-star lineman from Phenix City (Ala.) Central has been heavily considering the Crimson Tide in recent months despite a commitment to the Tigers.
“Basically told me the same thing he always tells me when I come into his office — I’ve got a full scholarship to play for him and he’s going to honor my scholarship,” Cohen said following a visit to Tuscaloosa for the LSU game. “He’ll take me whenever. Just to commit when I’m ready.” Cohen was ready on Wednesday following an official visit to UA this past weekend.
“He just sat there and elaborated on the many tools and things I’d have at my use if I desired to go to the University of Alabama,” Cohen said of Saban's message on his official visit. “He just kept re-explaining to me and my parents about how it was more that just football. They’re there to help build young men. Winning just comes along with how well they do that. That was his most important thing — me becoming a young man and graduating in three years and developing into a good person in society. That really stuck out to me and my parents.”
Another big standout moment to Cohen on his visit was spending time with future teammate Evan Neal. “Usually you come on a recruiting trip and recruits want to go out,” Cohen said. “I decided to stay in and stay in (Neal’s) dorm. We just sat down and talked about Bama football and what to expect when you get here.

"It was a real big eye-opener for me, giving me insight on what to expect when I get there. Also, sitting with Coach Flood in that meeting room, watching film. I loved that. I was just smiling and giggling the whole time. It was just so beautiful how comparative it was to my high school offense. I feel real confident being able to go in and run that offense.”
At 6-foot-5, 295 pounds, Cohen is rated the No. 27 offensive tackle and the No. 342 overall player in the country, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Safeties coach Charles Kelly is credited with landing Cohen.
247Sports' evaluation - Javion Cohen:
"Long, well-proportioned frame with room to grow. Athletic edge blocker with quickness and power in tight windows or in space. Strong lateral ability with some pop on contact. Aggressive nature with motor to occupy assignment through the whistle. Comfortable on the island with adequate anchor against power rushers. Transitions well vertically and as a puller. Can play through second level inside or out. Some position versatility. Strongside guard floor with blindside tackle ceiling. Fierce competitor with an edge. Room to improve technically, particularly with patience in pass protection. Relies on athleticism at times. Will need to continue to fill out and add strength at Power Five program before settling into contributing role. Could start at multiple positions before all is said and done, a move that should only increase pro football value."
The commitment gives the Tide the No. 1 class in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings. Stay tuned to BamaOnLine for more details on this breaking story.

Whoever the coach was flipped him quick. Maybe it was a longer process behind the scenes but it seemed like someone went to visit a week or so ago and it was a done deal.

LSURb is saying Kayshon Boutte has decided to sign next week.

Tino just tweeting “First of a bunch GREAT NEWS down the stretch!!” Sounds like it’s gonna be an awesome early signing day! We’ll see.

From an Auburn fan’s view, I think Alabama started recruiting him hard about 2 months ago.
I think he was 50/50 for a while but the last month has trended majorly toward Bama. Some of us felt good about holding on to him but it sounds like the OV sealed the deal. Auburn fans have been on edge about him because of twitter for a while now

Cohen's commitment has pushed Alabama in front of Clemson for the #1 class in the Composite rankings.

Hoping for a strong finish! I wouldn't be surprised if Boutte went ahead and signed. Someone said recently that he probably just can't say no. We must get A. Smith or Jarrett but is it me or has the Jarrett smoke fizzled some?
And what about the O-lineman from UGA? There was a ton of smoke and then nothing

Where are the folks that have been saying that recruiting is slipping
Funny how they stay quiet when good news comes out

So Cohen is saying that the Auburn coaches got pissed at him when he told them what was going on and put reports out there saying his offer was pulled. Also that he has no respect for that university at all. Really nice to get a kid who understands just how terrible everything about Auburn truly is.
