Been away from the board for several months due to a horrible family members health problems, and several injuries to myself. It's good to be back! Tomorrow will be the start of a new era for Tide basketball. Petty and Sexton are in the bag, so rest easy tonight. At the start of the recruiting period I predicted we would sign Petty, Sexton, Reese, Jones, and either hammonds or Jackson. Even though we missed out on hammonds and Jackson I really like the upside of Smith! Add in Daniel Giddens and my goodness, this is the class that starts Bama basketball to a different level. Coach Avery is exactly what we needed! We hit a grand slam with him. So buckle the heck up and enjoy something we have never seen before in basketball. Roll Tide!

Bamafan15, great job with starting and keeping this post going! You and everyone else did a great job keeping the info going. Even though I didn't get to post or check in everyday like I was doing, when I did it gave me a chance to get my mind off of my uncle who went through a terrible several months with chemical meningitis.

Oh. Well yeah I agree...at the very least it's selfish. During game time it should be about the team..but a lot of kids do it both in football and bball.

I think it starts at 6, so he will probably announce around 7. Sexton at 5. Well, suppose to be 5 but on the espnu special there are a few announcing so it could be between 5 and 6.

Thanks man! Yes,he is doing a lot better. Starting to get most of his memory back. As for myself, I'm doing better also. Broke wrist in 2 places, chipped bones in my elbow, and that arm got infected, but almost totally healed. Now if I could keep from passing out from cardiac problems and falling and breakjng bones I will be good!

Kentucky sports site predicts Petty to stay in state and commit to Alabama
quote:
Petty — a 6-5 prospect from Huntsville, Ala. — will pick either UK or Alabama at halftime of his high school team’s season opener, which begins at 8 p.m. ET.
John Calipari has visited Petty several times over the past few months, but Petty called off his previously scheduled official visit to Kentucky in October and did not reschedule that trip. He took an official visit to Alabama in August.
“I think John Petty is going to end up at Alabama,” Daniels said. “He’s announcing at his high school in Alabama. Pretty rare to see that go the opposite direction.”
