Someone who listened to Avery talk tonight said this:

Avery had a hoarse voice when talking and he said it was because today during practice there were a few "teaching moments". For him to have a hoarse voice from one day he must've been yelling at them pretty badly. They deserve it tho after that pathetic performance. Hopefully that wakes them up

If Alabama doesn't get more physical on the boards, we can't expect much more. You can't consistently get outrebounded and win..that'a fact.

That is really the main problem. We just don't rebound well. Rebounding and FTs win you allot of games

Good thing about URI is they only get about 31 RPG. We get 37

We have to defend the arch, rebound, make FTs, drive the ball and get to the line. Petty is not the consistent threat beyond the arch that we'd hoped he'd be so I don't think we need to just let him jack threes at his whim. We'd be better off letting Sexton just dribble drive to create offense by dishing it Hall pulling up.

I don't understand why Petty doesn't drive more. He's had success doing it. Last game he would get a defender on a shot fake then just step over and shoot a 3. Attack the rim John

isn't petty still pretty hurt? didn't look 100% to me

likely why he's settling for the jumpers

these guys could also drive the lane their entire career without much push back. Those days are over. You have to create in a different way now. It takes time.

Rothstein reported Braxton Key will practice today and Friday and will be a game time decision for Saturday's game at Arizona

Yeah maybe it's the injury.

Avery Johnson said John Petty sprained his ankle vs. Minnesota and re-aggravated it Sunday, "should be fine" for Wednesday. Braxton Key has done individual work at practice but Johnson said his "gut" is that Key won't play vs. Arizona. Key is hopeful to return vs. Mercer.

Avery Johnson: "We're not putting pressure on this team that this is a 'Make or break week.' That may be your headline, but it's not ours."

Avery Johnson on Rhode Island: "This is a man's team coming in here tomorrow. This ain't for the boys."

I like that from Avery. It's time to get mean and ornery. Rebounding is a hard, dirty business, and this team's big men need to play with a chip on their shoulders or the club's gonna underachieve this year.

If we win, I'll be surprised. Honestly if we go 2-3 over the next 5 I wouldn't be too disappointed.

Tommorow will be a good measuring stick to see what this team is mentally.

They got a wake up call Sunday and now a bonified tough arse Top 25 team coming in tomorrow that will physically whip their arse if they don't focus and play with max intensity.

Let's hope this game is where they start to figure out who they are and what they have to do to be successful.

We are going to beat Rhode Island down tomorrow. It'll be our best showing up the year. Bet the house on Bama

I feel like either we do that or we fall apart.

I'm clearly hoping it is #1.

It would be nice if a team could just have an "off day" against us for once.

Of course Arizona becomes Arizona again the week we play them.

Zona beat #7 and undefeated Texas A&M 67-64
