If you had told me before the season we’d be 19-14 (10-10) and IN the NCAA tourney and playing in the semis of the SEC tourney with a chance to improve the record even more, if have taken that in a heartbeat!

Let's not forget gene asked on the rant what would have justified Collin making 1st team all conference. I like him but just don't agree with him sometimes.

Hall is not going to play tomorrow and Giddens never plays even when he is playing, so we will have to make it rain from deep because Kentucky will get free points on rebounds and at the line.

Just happy to be dancing and we will see what happens when we're at full strength in the tournmanet.

Bryant, I know this season hasn’t went EXACTLY as planned, but its definitely one of the best ones we’ve had in years

All time? I don't think it is anywhere close.

In my life (50 years), Bama has beaten several #1 teams including UCLA in Pauly and Stanford in the NCAA tourney. They've beaten Dean Smith coached UNC, top 10 Kentucky in Rupp, eventual final 4 LSU in Baton Rouge, and a host of other very highly rated opponents.

Today we beat a good and talented but injured and fading Auburn. The only reason it feels like an all-time great program is because we've been so desperate for hoops success recently. The reality is there was a time when LOSING a game like this was a surprise.

I think us making the tournament sort of kills the Johnny Jones comparison

Jay Bilas tweet. This is a stupid statement

Example why At-Large selection decisions should be made last Sunday (based upon regular season only): Alabama has multiple extra chances to boost its resume. Mid-Majors (MTSU, SMC) can only hurt themselves. Conference tourneys should be about Automatic Bids, only.

If we make the tournament and don't have to play the play in game, that is a success in and of itself. But sitting at 19-14 and squarely on the bubble on March 9th is nowhere near what I was thinking last August.

Also, has Lunardi updated where he projected us after this win?

I’d be more for the regular season title being the auto bid if he’s talking about helping the little guy. Locking in who you are trying to help makes more sense than locking OUT at large seekers.
That said, I don’t really want any changes to it. March college basketball is an absurdly good product, please do not touch it.

I love seeing how happy they are. I honestly thought there was a problem in the locker room. They need to get back to enjoying themselves

Now CBS Sports Jerry Palm has us in there as a 11 seed vs 6 seed Gonzaga (Last year’s runner up)

Yeah but the comparison comes from his Ben Simmons team that didn't even try right?

On your other question I don't think Lunardi has updated his bracket yet. At least not online.

I think the small conferences should give their best teams more favorable brackets. Imo MTSU shouldn't have had to even play Southern Miss. I'd give them bye until at least the semifinal, maybe the final.

Before people say that would cause rust for that team, just start the tournament earlier.

Maybe when the other team outrebounds you by >10, have a +5 foul differential and shoots 60% 2FG including circus shots you are going to lose

Gene is having a hard time with this game
I’d love to see the list of “circus shots” we hit and which foul calls he thought were bogus.

18 point thumping, Gene. Didn’t have much to do with circus shots or refs.
