Sorry got sidetracked watching west VA and Baylor. After the game Marshall was telling cincy players to get out of the way and brushing by them to get to Cronin to shake hands. Not someone I want here that can't be class in defeat. He was just being a prick.

He comes across as an egotistical prick. I'm not sure he would accept Saban being the king down here.

Chris Stewart just seems like a good guy

Giddens had 3 fouls in 8 minutes

There's really no way to know if we could get those guys though. Should we fire a coach every time a good coach is unemployed? Good retread coaches come around pretty often. Ones that have had Matta's success are rare, but doesn't he supposedly have health issues?

I just think it's too early to judge Avery. I know I sound like a broken record, and it's not an identical comparison, but Auburn was terrible in Bruce's third year last season.

I guess Galin has officially passed Giddens as our 2nd big man.

This is his first full class. He's had to remake the roster from the shite show that he inherited.

What's the excuse to not have a full class until year 3? When you consider Sexton leaving, it still isn't even a full class to build from

It shouldn't take 5 years to rebuild a roster. Ben Howland is going to have a better year 4 roster at a shittier program after inheriting less

I wasn't even that unrealistic

You had Bama going 13-5 so you pulling the youth card is kind of a joke

With Bamas resources, brand and support, you shouldn't have a 4+ year rebuilding job w a coach who can recruit

Maybe Avery is the guy, but objectively he's done a shite job

You don't fire Avery until you know you have one of those guys. You have to have an agreement in place with the coach of your choice.

Avery isn't as good of a college coach as Pearl. I don't think Pearl would be as good of a NBA coach as Avery. Pearl knows how to recruit for his system and he was proven on the college level.

God, I hope so. Galen at least contributes something. Gidden is just out there turning it over and collecting fouls.

It took Bruce three years.

We'll see. With how players have transferred out from Howland, I think it's little early to say what their roster will be.

I'm with u Tom...No one is saying Avery doesn't have shortcomings but my general feeling is he can and will continue to grow . He's been used to doing things from an NBA standpoint and I think he ll continue to evolve.

Look at what Nick King has done since he transferred away from Avery

Nick King's pneumonia or whatever he had here has to be the most Alabama basketball thing ever.

Hell him getting sick, Ferguson bailing from our class, and Armond just generally sucking were all gut punches last year.

Look I expected 22 wins and a record from 11-7 in sec to 13-5...I was wrong , just don't throw bs back in my face gene.

Bruce had a showcause and couldn't recruit for his first 2 years and inherited less. He also coaches at Auburn, where basketball has gone to die for 20 years on top of being an Under Armour school

Let's be real here, if you are trying to compare to the coaching timelines of a 2 signing class show cause coach at a historical SEC bottom feeder Auburn...

Well that's a bad fricking sign

They have the weatherspoons plus adding 2 top 50 players. That alone makes them arguably better

The fact that they are in a position despite all those transfers to have a better roster is telling

One positive thing about Giddens is that he dishes out grown man fouls.

Tom just laid out a few of the roster/recruiting problems above. Davis, king, and Ferguson generally covers it.

Genes actually the best poster on the Bama Basketball thread. He says things at times that I'd like to get pissed at, but he's right most of the time and backs it up with facts

It's painful at times but it is what it is

I agree but my assessment was wrong and I admit that. Just find it comical an Auburn fan cares that much about what our program does. Not a positive or negative, just interesting.
