As in you just want Watford and Lewis to come and buy Avery another 3-4 years after that?
Avery will be in year 4 next year, if he doesn't compete for a top seed/double bye in SEC he is a failed hire
It's amazing how the bar keeps getting moved.

They can infest if I make Avery's money.
In fact, I'll show everyone on the site a picture of my flea infested crotch for criticism.

For his salary, you can call my mom whatever you want. Hell, I'd give her phone number out and folks could call and tell her

I think we're going to need to test this out on her before we pay you that kind of money.
Let's see that number.

I mean Butch Jones took criticism as HC at Tennessee and he turned that into a possible promotion as an Analyst positiong at Alabama.

Gene gets it, why can't our own fans? I never have understood fans who want blind loyalty and support for the coach, not the program. If we've got a coach that can't stand toe to toe with the best in the business and hold his own, we've got the wrong coach. I saw CM Newton take an undefeated Indiana team under Bob Knight to the brink in the tourney in 1976. I saw Wimp split home and home with eventual national champion Arkansas in 1993-94. Did we have any business hanging with either of those squads? Probably not, but we did. Why? We've had great coaches. We've never had top 10 talent in basketball. Not sure we ever will. But a good coach can hide a lot of deficiencies. Coach Bryant used to say he never had the most talent, he just knew how to use what he had.
I will support Alabama sports, all of them, for the rest of my life. Always have always will. But IMHO, part of supporting a team, is speaking up when you see a weak link among the coaches. Our teams and our players and fans deserve the best, we can afford the best, so by God, we should have the best. And that goes for football all the way down to chess club. No excuse not to.
Avery deserves a pat on the back for what he has done right for the program. The promoting, the recruiting, the reviving interest. Kudos to him for that. But as an X's and O's guy, you have to admit he hasn't wowed anybody on a regular basis. Matter of fact, you can point to a few occasions where he's got his arse kicked in that department. And that just won't do. He gets another year, sure. Few of us doubt that now. But unless a light bulb goes off somewhere or this guy channels John Wooden, we are going to be here at this time next season arguing who is on Byrne's short list. Maybe I'll be wrong, I'm not too proud to admit I may be full of shite. Only time will tell. We'll see in March 2019.

Sometimes I read a post and laugh and want to give an upvote...then I think about the actual statement I would be upvoting...

I remember Bobby Lee Hurt and Bama beating Patrick Ewing and Georgetown as well. Won a 1 dollar bet with my granddad on that game.
Also remember watching Bama and Auburn in Tuscaloosa one year. Auburn had the ball with like 15 seconds left. Bama crowd starts counting dowm 5-4-3 like the time is running out. Enis Whatley steals the ball and thinks time is running out. He makes the steal and shoots a 3/4 court underhand off balance bank shot. Clock still had several seconds left....since I was a kid that was amazing and has always stuck with me.

I would think Arkansas. Their RPI is 30. We need strong teams to win and shitty teams to keep losing since we are on the bubble. No?

We don't want South Carolina to go win the tournament, so in that sense you can route for Arkansas. It won't matter unless South Carolina wins the whole thing.

One of my favorite games was actually a loss. Loyola Marymount came in scoring an unreal amount of point per game. No one really gave us a shot, but Wimp put together a game plan and we damn near beat them. It was a great game.
Here is the box score for the game. 62-60

Let me guess u people wanted and expected the final 4 this year...I wasn't even that unrealistic. I love how people assume what others think lol... Laughable. Avery does have supporters and there are countless people who haven't given up on him yet. Basketball isn't football, he had a shite roster his first 2 years and most realistic people know that.
