Hmm Crean. He can recruit his arse off that's for sure but hasn't he been in trouble with the NCAA? Did he recruit the big Watford or was that before him. As of right now I don't know why Kira or Watford would come here.

Because Lewis is kind of a Bama legacy and Watford is close with several guys and a big Bama fan. Crean never had ncaa issues to my knowledge.

I believe he recruited him. I think someone said he gave an interview the other day and said he knew the current Watford since he was like 4.

I agree Frick Marshall...I wish people would let it go...He used us and I'd take crean in a heartbeat if a change is made.

Lets see what kind of game Byrne has. I expect he will give some support The Avery PC after the SEC tourney and wait until year 4 is complete before making a call on Johnson. It is going to be interesting to see what happens between AU and Bruce once the season is over. If a great BB job opens after the season is done it wouldn't surprise me to see Bruce look around since the Barn position has served it's purpose for him.

Crean has been through some wars in the Big 10 too, so at least this wouldn't be his first rodeo at the college level

I feel like at the first sign of a “no” Bill Battle probably said ok and left. I feel like Byrne could have a legit shot at landing him

Whoever the new coach is just start totally brand new and that means letting pettway go too. I like him he plugged in state but he may be the bad mojo.

I don't think a big time school would take the chance right now. Too much smoke around Pearl.

I sort of think Pearl will be there for a while. He has such low expectations there and is a greedy little (fat) shite. He can win 20-25 games a year there, make loads of money, and be a god to them. It wouldn't surprise me if he left, but I really think he'll be there for a while

Yep Auburn may be riding high but it's for the short haul. We can quibble about what battle did or didn't do but he was smart to avoid pearl. Bruce is like that cousin everybody loves but deep down he's that family member that can't stay out of trouble or trouble following him.

He's a Bama fan. He's been brown nosing for Avery all season.

He is a big bama homer who pretends he's in the media and acts like he has "sources".

I'm just...so....tired.

Hobbs... Gottfried...Grant...Avery.

At this point, whoever we get, I'm waiting YEARS until I emotionally invest again in this program. I've been hurt too often.

If Bama could go out tomorrow and get an upgrade in coaching (Crean). Then why wouldn't they do it?

If you sit back and compare the 2 and think, "who would I rather have as my head coach?" It's a no brainer. This is a business, frick loyalty. Coaches aren't loyal. If a NBA job came open and wanted Avery, he'd be gone.

Drew is actually connected...Used to work with redfish Barger, he's not exactly an outsider.

The worst part is.... of all those guys, I wanted Avery Johnsons to finally be our guy the most. His energy, attitude and demeanor breathed life into the place right from the tarmac. This one will hurt the most for me.

And part of me...

I still hope he can pull an "Alex Ferguson" if he can survive this year.
