What does this mean?

Here is a quote from Sexton after the game.
quote:

Collin Sexton: “In the second half, I felt like we weren’t hustling.”

Very interesting, thanks for sharing.

This is about the only scenario in which I'd be supportive of keeping Coleman. It would take a full-on gutting and revamp of the interior.

Only at the end. For 75+% if the game, Bama was right in it on the road in a very tough rivalry environment.

Also let’s not forget there was no way the Alabama basketball gods were going to let the team down to 7 players lose that game. Golden State couldn’t have won last night

And Florida has a LOT of recent success so they get a bump for brand name recognition like Kentucky, Duke and Kansas. The basketball Bama bump if you will. That’s most of the explanation for their ease of entry into the Dance.

Arizona’s Allonzo Trier was just ruled ineligible by the NCAA for taking a banned substance

Zona is saying that the amount is small and is a remnant of what Trier unknowingly ingested in 2016 ??

I saw where they said it was a small amount. Doesn’t matter I guess. He’s ineligible effective immediately.

This is all just part of the Bama basketball curse. If you’re on Bama’s schedule, expect something bad to happen to you

Bama is a better team than UF, but UF has a better resume of W/Ls

Not sure how you'd try to argue otherwise. UF has better wins (neutral v Cincy/Gonzaga) and have done it on the road too (@UK, @Mizz @TAMU). Bama also has more Ls to non tourney teams and the NCAAT team Ls are to lower seeds typically

I was talking about big wins and bad losses. But if we're looking at the whole schedule results of wins and losses into account, I don't know how UF could possibly be in the same conversation. They literally more than double our RPI.

As far as the big wins go...

Alabama Best 5 wins: 5-point win over AU without Sexton (RPI 7), 28-pt win over UT (RPI 11), 4-pt win over Rhode Island (RPI 8), 17-pt win @UF (apparently a 7-seed), 22-point win over a down A&M (RPI 26)

UF Best 5 wins: 6-pt neutral win over Cincy (RPI 12), 2-pt win @UK (RPI 16), 17-point win @A&M (RPI 26), 2 point win @Missouri (RPI 40), 6-point Neutral Win over Gonzaga (RPI 44)

I mean I see that as even at worst.

Alabama's 3 bad losses: @Vandy (RPI 111), @Ole Miss (RPI 107) and home loss to UCF (RPI 65).

UF's 4 bad losses: @Vandy (RPI 111), @Ole Miss (RPI 107), Home loss to South Carolina (RPI 73), home loss to UGA (RPI 70)

Once again, at worst that's even.

Then you add in the RPI and there's no chance they should be a higher seed. They aren't even a Q1 team for home teams and are almost not a Q1 team in their own damn gym.

I dont want to be that guy....but if it werent for a cheater being on the court we would have won @Arizona. They should give us that W....we easily win that game if Trier doesnt play, he made multiple momentum killing plays in that game.

Our resume is as good or better than Florida's...Don't know why anyone would even try to spin that. A team as young as ours doesn't even make the dance normally unless it's Kentucky or Duke.

Memphis is beating Houston with 7 mins left. Would be nice if they could pull it out.

Except RPI rank clearly doesn't mean shite as far as seeding. Especially since UF's record vs Q1/Q2 is roughly the same as Bamas

Rhode Island, Wichita and Nevada all were left off the top 16 teams despite all being top 16 RPI while OU made it in

Except that all your major wins we're at home except @UF. Neutral vs Cincy/Gonzaga is more impressive than home v TN/AU right now. AU/TN probably has another 3L minimum between them (2 for AU) left while Cincy/Zaga have a good shot to run the table

Then @UK, @Mizz, @TAMU is more impressive than the combined RI + TN home games.

UF's 4 bad losses:

They have worse bad losses, but they have more "quality losses " than Bama. There is a reason they have a higher SOR by about 10 spots as they've played more NCAAT teams

Not sure how you'd back that up from quadrant record, strength of wins or losses. There is a reason UF has a better Strength of Record + KenPom/BPI

I'd just like to remind you that you were pumping the Mercer, Lipscomb, BYU and UTAR wins as elite victories earlier this year. Maybe we have some different measuring stick I guess

Memphis leads by 7 with 3 mins left. If they win this one it will put them at 17-11 with their last 3 games being against 3 awful teams. They should finish 20-11 if they hold on here.

Lipscomb will probably finish in the top 100 RPI after their conference tourney.

That is actually extremely unlikely even if they win the tournament. RPI Wizard projects them at 104. Lipscomb only has 1 Win vs RPI top 150.

They are not someone a team like Alabama should brag about winning. Easily one of the lower end Ws this year
