I think Herb is our 3rd best player. He is a stud. Also might as well say Giddens didnt play tonight, he only had 5 minutes.

Give me herb over key. Effort goes a long way with me and that kid is active

I like the kid, but he's not built for the 4. He's way too thin. The other team would have to play small for me to be comfortable with that.

How many bangers are usually on the floor? 1? Most teams go with the stretch 4 now. He is long enough

Riley plays the 4 at times

I think this. I thought we tried to play too many guys last season, so hopefully Avery has learned from that.

I really love Herbert's game. I'd start him against any team with a great wing scorer.

Reese is a stretch 4 and would probably abuse Herb on the low block if given the chance. Ingram isn't a banger or even a big man, but if he has a strength and size advantage Avery is going to give him the ball and allow him to bang down low.

Like I said, it'll work and I think we'll see him as a 4 at some points, but only in certain match-ups. Even if he doesn't start, I still see Jones getting starter-quality minutes.

Riley is nowhere near as thin as Herb. Saying that, I do think Herb will spend time there, but that it's very match-up dependant and playing him against stretch 4s is a waste of his defensive talent.

As I mentioned before, I'd start him in most cases and have Petty or Ingram come off the bench. Adds more offense to the bench and makes the starting 5 defense deadly. I just don't think Avery is going to do it often.

Kentucky is the 6th best team in the conference right now.

Maybe not 6th but I would pick aTm,Mizzou,Bama,UF,and Arkansas to beat them RIGHT NOW....At the end of the year Kentucky will probably be the best team.

They'll get better, but I didn't see how they were ranked 5th prior to their game today. I know Kentucky is used to playing young, but they don't have the usual future top 5 pick stud they're used to having. I don't see them winning the SEC, regular season or tournament.

Memphis didn't exactly have great post play, but it's really reassuring to know that we can get quality minutes from Reese at the 4 if we have foul trouble down low. And even better, he can't be left alone at the 3 point line.

Maybe Reese can be what Shannon Hale was supposed to be?

Avery said Braxton was already riding a stationary bike and could be back sooner than 4 weeks.

That's good news, but I hope we're not rushing to get him back. Rather he be back 100%

Also, women's team won 90-32. Freshman forward Ariyah Copeland got a double-double (16-15) in her first career start. Hannah Cook also had 14.
