Yeah big win, but we'll have to stay focused. Miss State is no joke.

God without that fricking Vanderbilt loss we're 5-1. frick Vanderbilt. They shouldn't be in the conference anyways. I don't care how good their academics are.

I'd feel a lot better about this team if I thought Avery had a clue when it comes to lineup decisions. It's so painfully obvious that Herbert can run the halfcourt offense better than Jr, but I fully expect Jr. to continue being the primary backup PG when Sexton needs a breather.

I love Herb. And I really like what Reese is giving us.

Hopefully Sexton and Hall come back, Reese and Herb keep playing confidently and aggressively on offense and Key figures something out.

Keep it rolling Saturday.

There's not a single freshman that I don't feel good about. Yeah they all play dumb at times, but Smith, Herb, and Reese all give some really good minutes and Petty/Sexton are elite at times. If Key and Giddens can give us anything, we aren't as terrible as most of us think we are.

We are 8-5 against Groups 1 & 2 in the new Tournament Criteria.

Against those same groups Duke has 6 wins, Nova 8, Virginia 7, Oklahoma 6.

Up to #27 in RPI, #8 SOS

Good thing Petty missed one of those foul shots. He was gonna be so confused when his point total wasn’t a variable of 3

To be fair, Herbert was turnover machine through non conference. I don't know what the numbers are now, but he seems to have cleaned it up.

Also, for as much shite as we've given Avery and the team for defensive close outs........They adjusted at halftime. We didn't get beat and collapse on drives in the 2nd half.

@ Robot Santa - Herbet looks like he has a goal when running the offense. AJ looks like his just throwing shite at the wall.

@George - I really like the way Herbert and Reese play. Confidence, effort and on to the next play after a mistake. Both have a lot of room for growth.

I think Key and Ingram need to figure out how to adapt to the rest of the team. Hall seems like the only one that's evolved his game to compliment the freshman. He's having a great year.

Teams also just respect that if Herb gets a guard on his hip he can finish.

If Avery Jr gets a guy on his hip the guy just trails him and pins his layup. Totally changes the way teams have to rotate.

He was, but he can break a defense down and get to the basket too. As soon as we put a lineup out there that doesn't keep the ball in the hands of someone who can get in the lane and score or distribute our offense bogs down horribly. Hopefully we keep going with some of those looks when Sexton is in foul trouble or getting a break.

I hate that Avery Jr. is as bad as he is. Seems like a great kid. But damn, I've never wished for someone to develop a spontaneous allergy to composite leather in my life... I'm convinced that that's the only way for him to lose that backup PG spot.

Encouraging that hall was out there. Curious what happened with Collin though, did his injury happen Saturday night?

It amazes me that AJ was ranked 19th in 247's Texas rankings. That was above Keenan Evans and Zach Smith at Texas Tech and TJ Maston at Baylor.

He seems like a guy who tries and practices hard, but just doesn't have it. At least he doesn't turn it over a lot. He just wastes possessions.

I don't think we know when it happened. It was an abdominal strain right? That could happen just about anytime.

Last 2 games were pretty damn gritty. The season was flashing before our eyes and they won a tough road game and beat one of the hottest teams in the Country, shorthanded, at home.

Just have to keep building and not lose focus.

He turns it over or takes a bad shot any time he tries to do something other than his arse-first, frozen dribbling. It's infuriating. Literally everybody can see that Schaffer is the better PG. Hell, you don't even have to use him, because Jones and Ingram can fill that backup role.

I get the predicament he's in with it being his and, probably more importantly, his wife's kid, but it's insane that he's getting back up minutes here.
