Bad thing is there were a lot of really good coaches available over this time period. Most of them have been hired away.

I don’t get it! We looked better coached with less talent. Now that we have a little talent the coaching looks like shite

We've never looked well coached imo . I just attributed it to the lack of talent and depth mostly. We played pretty good at times playing gritty defense and scoring in transition.

I agree with this. We made excuses for Avery.

This is a long fast athletic team. They are at their best running, pressing and scoring in transition .Not in the fricking half court OBVIOUSLY.

Exactly. They should play more like Mountain Brook, if you all have gotten a chance to see them. They utilize the entire court and wear teams down. With Sexton, Ingram, Key, Petty we have ball handling and passing and scoring abilities. They just stifle to score in a half court game.

We should have left Petty in TTown. Look at his stats.

Petty is worthless if he isn’t making 3’s. Which is basically most games haha.

Bama just should hire Tom Crean

Would take him instantly. I don't care about his roller coaster tenure. He finised making the tournament in 4 of his last 6 years at Indiana, and took Marquette to the final 4. We don't ask for much here. Just get us to the postseason, have some runs, and recruit well.

Get Avery the frick out of here now

FIFY

Sexton's help today:

Johnson Jr.: 8 pts, 2/7 FG
Hall: 7 pts 3/6 FG (respectable)
Jones: 4 pts, 2/7 FG
Petty: 3 pts, 1/8 FG
Key: 1 pt, 0/7 FG
Rest of team: 0 pts, 0/6 FG

Outside of Sexton we shot 8/41 FG. That's good for 19%. Take out Hall's 3/6 and it's 5/35. That's good for 14%. I honestly feel bad for Sexton. We're currently wasting his one year of college.

Yeah Avery definitely deserves blame, but the guys didn't perform today regardless of coaching.

Just say Avery finished under .500 (which is very possible), and Byrne decides it’s time for a change and he fired Avery, who should we go after?

I think Gregg Marshall, Tom Crean, and Billy Donovan would all be good choices. Doubt any of them would come here tho...

Same here.

One thing I am glad about as a Alabama sports fan is that Greg Bryne is our AD and not Bill Battle

I don't care who he goes after and I am content to leave it in his infinitely capable hands. The hiring of Greg Byrne has given me the utmost confidence that we will hire good coaches in the future. And if we make a mistake, he has no qualms or hesitation about erasing that mistake and correcting it. I'm sure Byrne has a short list of names that would do quite nicely.
