By the way I think Brent Calloway will go down as the standard bearer for position changes. I was shocked at how promising he looked this spring.

Calloway could be a great match up problem. Especially if teams are used to covering our H-B with a slower non coverage LB.

Yeah, I think for the most part if a guy is just the right size for a position, but it is not his natural spot it does not seem to work out. And I think though Calloway has the size of an LB he really plays more like and offensive player.

If our receivers live up to their potential it is going to be hard to cover all of these guys.

No worries, Walker isn't announcing til August 3rd and we are the team to beat.We are also in the running for Tunsil who is the number 1 OT, and are in the top 2 for Robert Foster the number 1 wr, plus we lead for Derrick Henry who is a top 5 rb.Also in the top 2 for 5 star LB Matthew Thomas.

Walker is Bama's to lose right now, but if he attends FNL and pushes that date back. He's going to go to Florida.

On Tunsil, I still feel like he goes to UGA.

Thomas isn't leaving the state IMO. FSU bound.

You're right on with Henry.

I've no clue on Robert Foster.

We;re also heavily in the mix for 5 star safety Antonio Conner too, forgot about him.

We also have a shot with Kendall beckwidth and Tim Williams.

We are still in the mix for a ton of great players, I'm sure we'll finish very strong, we always do.

You dont know ish about football dude. I bet you that eventually Walker will be on the field on our defense sooner than you think. Its never the guys who can just run around and hit. Its the guys who know what the hell they are doing. Thats why you see guys like Rod Woodson and BJ Scott leave. All the talent in the world but just didnt get the playbook. Look at Walkers film. He is playing LB, RB, and Wr this kid has some athletic ability. Might not be elite but it doesnt have to be. He isnt a fricking WR. Brandon Spikes ran the 40 in what 5 seconds and went to New England and was a beast. You sir need to shut the hell up your working my nerves.

I dont get how D. Walker isnt a 5 star. Just by looking at his film and every camp he goes to he dominates I dont get it. Anyway if we get him ill be extremely happy.

We all have things we question Saban for.

Not really, not in regards to recruiting. Saban's track record has shown him to be a great recruiter, possibly one of the best of all-time. Not only does he pull in the high-rated classes yearly, the talent he recruits goes on to break records at Bama, a program with a very rich history.

quote:

Like anyone can be a long snapper. It is an acquired skill not a talent.

So is place kicking.

quote:

If you are going to give a kid a free ride to long snap why not at least an instate kid.

I doubt you will every know why Saban recruited a long snapper from Cali. There are an unlimited amount of possible reasons why he did.
- Repaying a favor to someone
- Favor for future considerations
- He holds the long snapper position in a higher regard than you or most other people.
- He loves the kid. Maybe the kid interviewed very well and Saban really wants him to be part of the team, simply for that reason.
- etc, etc, on and on and on

quote:

Jones will be head scratchers to me.

Jones has two brothers on the team, I think it is great if another gets the chance. Personally, I don't care if he is a two-star, I think it would be a nice gesture to offer. Sixteen years from now when all three have three boys each(all 5-stars)Bama will have the inside track.

Bottom line, you can continue the worrying and in your case tormenting others or you can sit back and enjoy a golden era of Bama football.
If you're just a negative person and need a fix, there are plenty of things you can question about Saban. Sadly for you, recruiting is not one of them.

Saban has earned the right to get the benefit of the doubt in the recruiting game.

Still think he's LSU, but the longer he goes without committing, who knows? He mentioned that Miami and FSU are recruiting him the hardest right now in a recent interview. Not sure if that means much.

@TomLuginbill @jcshurburtt What about Cooper Bateman how has he looked?

@TideorDie @jcshurburtt He had some rough patches last two days. Struggling with ball control. Pressing a little.

Great new about McNiel! Its so funny how Tim gets worked up about recruiting and its only July--our staff is doing an great job. We realistically only have several spots left and its only July--it will turn out to be another top 3 class.

If he doesn't come to LSU, I would put money on FSU or Miami ...

Yall have a better shot at Kendall Beckwith imo.
