Both Deion Sanders and Lane Kiffin are being mentioned to as replacements to Bryan Harsin at Auburn. On Wednesday, Lane shared his thoughts on Coach Prime...
quote:

“I think he’d do great,” Kiffin said, via On3. “I think that’s a great name and they should hire him. Great recruiter, great name. This is a different world we’re in now because recruiting has always been important but now you have the portal. You can change a roster faster than you ever could before. And you can lose a roster faster than you ever could before. So the ability to hire Deion and have that name right away and portal people wanting to play for him right away can flip a roster where before – realistically – it would take two to three years to truly turn a roster around, you can do it immediately."

Every coach in the SEC wants Sanders at Auburn. Why...cause it ain’t Jackson St. There are no Alcorns, Southerns, Gramblings, or Alabama A & M’s in the SEC. He will fall and fall hard.

Kiffin's right. I hope they pass him by, cause he could turn Auburn around in a year.

There's a name. Hire Kevin, I have no fear of him, haha.

Sanders will fail at his first P5 gig, wherever it is. His response to that failure will determine his future career as a coach.

There is a lot of truth in what you said. That ego needs to be checked and he may not be able to handle it.

There is a FINE line between too much self-aggrandizing ego and BELIEF in one's self. Some can walk it and some can't. Prime seems to walk it just fine and that transfers to all around him.

In that case, it might be better to go coach in the PAC-12 where he won’t have SEC defenses breaking all his top-shelf skills players.
