John Thompson, who led Georgetown from 1972-99, has passed away. The former college basketball head coach was 78 years old.

Not surprised at the graduation rate. I remember him best for the deflated basketball on his desk. Recruits were told the ball didn't bounce forever and that they had better also focus on getting an education for when the ball stopped bouncing.
