In the wake of LeBron James' "Second Decision" that ended up being an advertisement for Hennessy, a lifelong Los Angeles Lakers fan is suing James over the announcement.
In the lawsuit, the fan claimed he was deceived out of hundreds of dollars. He had been eagerly anticipating LeBron James' retirement, believing that the teaser video was just that, rather than an advertisement for his new collaboration with the Hennessy brand.
The fan asserts that James owes him the money he paid for tickets, which he believed would allow him to attend one of James' last games with the Lakers on March 31, 2026, against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The fan also accused James of "fraud, deception and misrepresentation," and is suing him for a total of $865.66 for the two tickets that he purchased.
