Details Emerge From Michael Jordan's Role With NBC Sports
© Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports
I think everyone was surprised hearing the news of Michael Jordan joining NBC Sports' NBA coverage. According to CNBC's Alex Sherman, Jordan's precise role remains "nebulous." However, he's currently not slated to join NBC's studio shows...
quote:

"I'm told the initial plan is for Jordan to appear in taped segments during the season to provide analysis that will air during pregame shows or halftime shows," Sherman wrote. "How that evolves over time is still TBD."

The way the NBA is now, I feel like not many of the Jordan era fans like watching and younger fans don’t seem as dedicated as older fans were. They’re trying to keep/bring back the stars from back in the day with hopes it’ll bring back some of the older viewers they lost. I just don’t know too many people my age that enjoy the current product the NBA puts out. I tried watching a little of the playoffs and it was constant fouls calls and timeouts so I turned it off.

Haven’t watched the NBA in years, and MJ won’t change that despite his star factor and being the GOAT.

NBA is in big trouble trying to increase their fan base They are losing fans left and right and are trying to bring in the old guard. Very few give a Frick about the NBA.

~30 Million watched the 1998 Finals. Last year, only ~11 million watched the finals. I would say that's quite the loss of fans.
