CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mississippi State's 2023-24 men's basketball season came to an end on Thursday following an NCAA Tournament first-round loss to Michigan State. The Bulldogs fell to the Spartans 69-51 at the Spectrum Center.

Josh Hubbard scored a team-high 15 points for the Dawgs, including a trio of 3-pointers. Tolu Smith III added nine points and Cameron Matthews and D.J. Jeffries tallied eight apiece, but it wasn't enough push Mississippi State into the big dance's round of 32.

Michigan State's offensive success proved to be the difference in the contest. The Spartans shot 50 percent as a team from the field including a 43.5 percent mark (10-for-23) from behind the three-point line.

The Bulldogs shot 37 percent as a group and 22.2 percent from long range.
