Viral World Cup Twitter Account "Freddy" Was Amazed During Their Stop At LSU

The X (formerly Twitter) account @FreddyLA7, which belongs to a German soccer fan named Freddy, has gone viral during the 2026 FIFA World Cup for documenting his first extended trip across the United States.

What started as a simple travel diary has turned into one of the internet's feel-good stories of the summer.

Freddy has become especially popular in the South, on their way to Houston to see Germany play. During a recent stop in Baton Rouge, he toured LSU, visited Tiger Stadium, met Mike the Tiger, and even stopped at the original Raising Cane's near campus:
