Sam Leavitt Named to Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt has been named to the 2026 Maxwell Award Preseason Watch List, an honor presented annually to the most outstanding player in college football. The preseason watch list features 81 players from across the FBS entering the upcoming season.

Leavitt enters his first season at LSU with high expectations after transferring from Arizona State, where he suffered a season-ending injury in 2025.

The redshirt junior is expected to lead a revamped Tigers offense under head coach Lane Kiffin.
